How expensive is Advanced Nutrients? Really?

I have been an advanced Nutes user for some time.. And it is WAY expensive. So what I have included here is a cost analysis of using Advanced nutes through an entire grow.

Using the recomended dosage from Advanced website Nutrient calculator and selecting Master grower check out the numbers. They shocked me.....

The following are totals for entre grow, (to see a by week by break down see excel spread sheet)


These numbers reflect 12 plants given 1 gallon of nute treated PH adjusted water once a week each, and PH adjusted water in between feedings



Veg - 6 weeks I like em big

Sensi A grow - 1080.62 ml (36.54 oz)
Sensi B grow - 1080.62 ml (36.54 oz)
B-52 - 539.42 ml (18.24 oz)
Voodoo Juice - 539.42 ml (18.24 oz)

Flower 11 week

Sensi A - 1916.36 ml (64.80 oz)
Sensi B - 1916.36 ml (64.80 oz)
Piranha - 191.64 (6.48 oz)
Bud Candy - 958.18 (32.40 oz)
Tarantula - 191.64 (6.48 oz)
Sensizym - 958.18 (32.40)
Bud Ignitor - 191.64 (6.48 oz)
Rhino Skin - 958.18 ml (32.40 oz)
Bud Factor X - 958.18 ml (32.40 oz)
Big Bud (liquid) - 862.36 ml (29.16 oz)
B-52 - 766.55 ml (25.92 oz)
Overdrive - 191.64 ml (6.48 oz)
Final Phase - 95.82 ml (3.24 oz)

Total cost at local hydro store - $740.00
Total price from Advanced nutrients - $790.00

Oh Sorry that will feed 12 plants durring an 11 week flower and 6 week veg......

The above nute regime is a what if scenerio. The above nutes are what they want you to use if you are using there 100 % Grand Master PH perfect Regime ( the PH perfect line is supposed to be released in Sept)

I don't currently use the entire line I use

Fox Farms Growbig and big bloom or tiger bloom (the one with the tomato on the bottle, so what I am stoned )

Flower

Bud blood
rhino skin
bud candy
big bud
cal /mag bloom
Bud Factor X
and Budswel ( non AN product)

Last grow I only grew 8 plants and all harvested dry weight ( I trim close I hate sloppy trim) was just under 1.75 lbs ( but I got slammed with mites right at the end and chopped early, I was expecting just over 2 lb. Pic is from last harvest and are 2 of the super Lemon Haze getting ready to hang

I spent $30 bucks LAST YEAR in my Labs feeding the girls.
That covered 5 grows. And they were not small grows either.

Oh and btw, I do have pics posted of my grows and many more that have not been posted.

I think I spent more on ph down than nutes last year.

Well I think he knows that (that AN is expensive, not that he is insane) that's why he went oh shit!! I gave him +rep for going through the trouble to post his finding so others might not make the same mistake. It shows what a rip AN can be.

AN base is fine...it's all the other shit I just can not comprehend justifying

Seems a bit pricey. Even using House & Garden, we only run about 350-400 per cycle (4000W (48 plants))

Scotts Peters Hydro or similar + Calcium Nitrate + Epsom Salts = 3 cents a gallon

you reallt dont need to spend that much on nutes, thats grandmaster, you can achieve good results with something like, mother earth as the base, ad big bud and bud candy, and thats it, thats what i use and it works great.

But thats not the point. Advanced nutrients doesn't hide the fact that if you want to get the absolut genetic best out of your plants you will need to use the ENTIRE AN grandmaster line. Does this seem right to you.

SO I guess the real question is what to use?

seriously? Miracle Grow is like putting antifreeze in your gas tank. That stuff is only for growing things that you LOOK at, not things that you smoke. Yeah, you can be a cheap ass and use stuff that costs nothing at all, but if you're actually serious about growing, you need to use something like AN or some other nute that is designed for growing marijuana.

You're not growing violets. You're growing something that you smoke.

I think it's a great idea to show the actual prices of AN and how to use it right. Now, with that said, I think a lot of people are just trying to find something wrong with Advanced Nutrients. Which boggles my mind.

I really, really like these nutes. They've worked for me for years and I personally have no plans to change things up.

Are they more expensive? Yes and no. Like any product, you can go to different stores and find different prices. If you go to a hydro shop, AN might cost so much, but other online shops and Ebay will give you cheaper prices. Discount AN online is a great resource too when you want to save money.

Another good tip I've used is to use less nutrients with each grow. I use 25% less and still see some awesome results - and using less means you're saving money in the long run.

Just saying - use your head folks.

Use the cheap stuff = you'll get crappy grows.

I have no doubt that AN is the ABSOLUTE best in the field of MJ nutrients, I don't think any 1 can dispute this. However, By using the entire line will you get bigger bettter fatter buds? Ya probably. BUt how much more? How much bigger? how much better? 10%? 20, 30 or even 40% more? So is the price to grow 40 % bigger buds 40% more than using others nutes?

OH and Blazingtimes your Avatar is fucking with my stoned eyes ( is it politacaly correct to say chinese eyes anymore, cause I am really chinese eyed

Good point - how much better would things get if you use the whole lineup?

Well, I guess, for me anyway, I like the results I'm getting with just a really basic lineup of Advanced Nutrients. And maybe I'm not greedy like some folks, but getting really awesome results is the point, isn't it? If I grow too much, there's no way I can smoke all of it.

I just want to grow enough for myself and a few friends, and I want to grow good stuff. That's all I need Advanced for.

But there are moments when I wonder if I can get 20% more by buying more AN products. At the same time, I'm okay with what I have now and I don't need to change up my routine at all.....

not yet anyway.

And yes, Blazingtimes, that avatar is NUTS. The more I stare at it, the dizzier I get.

But, if buying he entire line way over expensive? I think so.. So if the entire line, as a whole is WAY over priced, then it would lead to reason that individually they would be over priced as well. I am currently working on getting the ambition to figure out the overall costs of other nutrient companys as well.
