pay the bill & you probably have nothing to worry about, people get caught from stealing power not using too much.

Everything is all about money.... If you pay them the money you owe them on time, you will never have anything to worry about. Of course there is a max limit of energy you can use. I remember reading about a growhouse getting busted because it kept blowing out something on the cable lines. He was paying his bills, just simply sucked too much power.

4-5 times the average kilowatt usage would probably raise eyebrows. Depending on what state you live in, the power company has to contact you first, they can't just call the police.

well i keep marine fish i have 3 tanks and each tank has 2 x 400w metal halide lights so thats 6 x 400w running 8 hours a day plus my 400 hps grow light plus everything else in my house lcd tvs on most ov the day pcs laptops the list goes on done this for years always pay my bills on time NEVER had a problem

Since when has any supplier of anything had a problem with customers using a LOT of it??? And getting LARGE bills. As long as they pay there is never a problem.
