How important is darkness

Its dark in my room but ther is a little light i can see threw the ac, during veg is it an issue, or is it more important when they are flowering????

during veg ur fine....u can actually do 24 hrs in veg....its flower where dark is crucial

Thanks, im running 18/6, there is no light coming in but i can see it , does that make a difference?? Isnt it good that im on 18/6, i got 2 600w hps

18/6 is fine, you can, like jackabok mentioned, run your lights 24 hours a day during veg...

during flower, it's best to have absolutely no light for at least 12 hours...in nature, there's moonlight, light from porch lights, etc, so i guess technically, you don't need total and complete absolute darkness, but i wouldn't chance any light if i were you, if at all possible do something to block the little light you can see through your ac, remember, if you can see it, your plants can too, it's not worth taking a chance with your ladies!

Do you think it will help to ad flourecent lights and run those for six hours or the hps doing the job????

the more light the better, of course, as long as you can keep your temps down

if anything, add some cfl lighting, you can buy everything at walmart for about 30 bucks to add 6 cfl's (including the cfls!) 3 lamp cords, 3 porcelin little light holders, 3 Y's (plugs into socket and you can put 2 bulbs in it), and a 6 pack of cfl's

...how come you'd just run added flouro's for 6 hours? your hps's for 18, them flouros for 6? for 24 hours of light? (sorry if i'm reading your last post wrong, my brain is running on E right now) if so, run your hps's all the time, they'll definately pack more punch for ya!

just my .10. I prefer to do 18/6 not 24 hours during veg. Alot of the nutrients get to the plants and similarly the plant is easier able to convert it to energy when its dark. if you spray the leaves this is better done during dark period as well. I have a green bulb in my room that I will turn on if I need to go in when its dark....this wont effect them.

during flowering, light during dark period can mess them up. they basically stall and forgetting to closeup the room or what have you just 1 night can add up to 3 days total time.
