How is Colorado Springs to live in?

Hello all!

I am planning a transplant from Tucson to Colorado springs in the next 6 months, and was wondering what you all thought about that city etc.
I will be losing my grow rights here and refuse to pay 500 an oz for awful weed, so im headed to the mountains.
I am in my 30's, make descent money, have a Pitbull service dog and LOVE to hunt fish and camp.

So are people nice there?
Can I just start a (6 plants per person) grow without fear of LEO?
IS it worth it to get a medical card at all?
How are cops in general?
Is the UCCS a descent school?

Basically how is the weather up there?

Come to Springs. We would love a well off person as yourself

We are generally laid back here, seems the younger generation is the more loud and rowdy but screw them, let them go to Pueblo (AKA little Mexico)

Plenty of nature scenes and majestic but crazy ass weather

Weed is plentiful and at wonderfully cheap prices

Grow as you please, just keep to yourself and maybe lay low with your smell (common grower wisdom)

A medical card gives you access to dispensaries at this time, and will be a secure bet should something happen-

Police here are normally okay, and will let minor things go as long as you don't test them

UCCS is alright, quite a populated school. Did a tour on campus back in high school and they were relatively overpriced for essentially a community college crowd at a 3-star quality school

Shiiit. We recently passed some bullshit laws limiting us to 15 rounds per magazine and a pesky, time consuming (but good idea for "saftey") background check that didn't exist before

I remember watching this video, some guy at a park well known downtown here openly carried his weapon and got fed some standard police BS-

Im not 100% certain but I do believe for certain weapons you'd need to have that concealed weapon permit or whatever it is

Super dooper. What are the better dispensaries up there? Do any sell clones, i have yet to find any on Weedmaps etc.

Also If it's me and my gf in the same home, can we grow 12 plants(6/6) ??

Good dispensaries?

Treeehouse: Won't find anywhere more compassionate and well-rounded. Look up other threads on this sub-forum and you will see why. Dank, their in-house grown stuff is the bomb, however the wholesale (bud they don't grow) is... well not too great.

TheHealingCanna: Recently lowered prices, they sell some pretty damn good bud on all budget ends and quality, with their lowest shelf being decent so you can always expect at least some good cut..

Levity Wellness: Friendly little mom shop. Grab as much free little candies and drinks as you can. Dense, good nugs with some of the best aroma and taste of buds around town but may lack trichomes. lol.

all places mentioned sell clones along with the other standard edibles, products and what not. I recommend these locations as I've toured many, almost all dispensaries in the city. Of course it is my personal preference/recommendation though

I believe the grow plant rule applies to the household, not by number of people living at one place.

Well, let me put it to you like this...

I absolutely love Colorado Springs, I'm nearly positive this where I will reside for the rest of my existence.

It can get hot here, but very little to zero humidity.. I will have to warn you about the DRAMATIC transitions of the weather patterns..

I mean, you could wake up @7:00 am, and it's sunny 70° and not a cloud in sight...

By 10:00 am.. We could be white-out blizzard conditions, and I'm NOT exaggerating, it is crazy.

Constiello nailed the dispensary list...the only one I kind of disagree on is Levity Wellness, and it's because I'm biased in the fact that I used to a member of Levity, and I REALLY liked the place for a while.

Then, their selection was down to two strains for quite some time, they would put 1 gram caps on certain strains, damn that made me really mad...lol.

Next, was the fact that they couldn't keep a steady budtender, somebody new nearly every visit. When I first started going there, the owner was always super cool and friendly, but after I assigned them...no more smiles, no more hello, no friendliness.

What really initiated my hatred for Levity...was their bogus reward program.

I spent over 10,000$ at that shop in a couple years..I had the 10,000 points to redeem a SSV vape and a ounce of meds.

Well, when I attempted to redeem...the budtender had to ask her boss about it..

I could see the conversation, the budtender seemed frustrated and upset...so the old lady with glasses had to come tell me the” situation”

She said” we cannot redeem your points, unless you BUY an equal amount of merchandise”

I'm not the type of person to argue and cause a scene, so, I calmly said...I've already done that, by earning 10,000 points, she started rambling some bs how they could get in trouble and lose their license...which I knew was a straight lie.

So I left and never went back..they had decent meds...but do not become a member.

Lol...sorry about the novel...but ever since that day, I see Levity Wellness, I can't help but remember that day.

But the Springs is the shit, like Dank said, kinda keep to yourself, and mind your business...a great city.

A ton of camping and fishing spots all over the place..but I like to take about an hour drive over to Rampart, or Woodland Park, so fucking beautiful, and you are literally on the mountain..

I swear there was one night we were camping, it seemed like we were in a cloud, of course we were baked, and it could've been just thick fog, but you could feel the moisture, and the fog was so thick you couldn't really see very well.

You should love it here.

Staff at Levity sucks minus one person who would always hook me up...but only back in the day. Also, back in the day when I visited daily the manager lady was cool to me but then she flat out ignores me and gives me bullshit "are you new here?"

Yup...prolly the same guy I used to like...he was the only honest one on the team.

Man, they would make me so mad, seeing a jar full of the Lemon Skunk, and ...

” we are only allowed to sell one gram at a time, per day”

That was bogus as shit...fuckers.

I don't think you will feel like you need to carry your gun here like you do in AZ, it is a different vibe here.
Also, yes it is 6 plants per person over 21, so yes you and the girlfriend could have 12 total. Some areas have specific plant number limits, so check local laws.

When you purchase a firearm and when you apply for a Conceal Carry you fill out a form that has a question about your consumption of any "drugs". You cannot get either a gun or a permit if you answer yes. I spoke with 2 lawyers about carrying and they both advised not to, but I read that this restriction was tested in a case where someone protected himself and his stash with his handgun and the case was dismissed. But he had to go to court. And the fed law still prohibits firearms and "drugs" in the same place, so that could become an issue. True is right, you shouldn't feel the need to carry in most places, just don't go to places where you need a gun. Study the martial arts and pay attention to your environment so you can be the hero without becoming a victim of justice. Good luck with your move, Colorado is a special place.
