How long before males pollinate?

How long does it take from like the first week or two when you find out your plants a male until it pollinates the females? I think I might have a herme but I want to be sure before I go thru the trouble of making a seperate grow room for the he/she, but I don't want to risk pollinating my only female, how long should I wait before killing or moving it? ~ JRock.

I would want it if it was a hermie so I could harvest the seeds for my next grow b/c then they would be feminized seeds. I'm thinking about stressing 1 or 2 of my plants next grow so I can try to harvest herme seeds. But it doesn't matter now, no one answered my question in time so I killed him this morning. :^( Also...is a hermie a female plant that has been stressed or a male plant thats been stressed? Or does it even matter, do both turn hermie if you stress them? ~ JRock.

males don't turn hermie, only females. males under stress will just work harder and faster to release their pollen to the females. females hermie because they think they're dying and want to propagate to continue their genetic line, so they produce "pollen" and seed themselves hoping that the seeds will have better conditions... hermies can still produce decent, smokable bud, it'll just be seeded and easily not as good as sensimilla.
