How Long Can I Keep A Seedling In A Small Container?

rite now i am using a 1 liter bottle with the top cut off for my seedling. how long can i keep it in there before i have to trans plant. i want to keep it small.

until it's close to being root bound best thing to do is cover up the plastic so the roots aren't exposed to light as far as keeping it small how small is small?

rite now its in a computer tower i want it to stay small to fit in there for a while then i want to move it to a bigger box once i get it made.

2 weeks maybe 3 if your trying to keep it small.
On another note-
Technically you could keep it in there the whole grow if you wanted, your plant wont be as big though. Root bound is a myth, you dont have to transplant ever if you dont want. its just your plants wont get as big as if you'd moved to larger containers.

Rootbound is when the roots no long have space to expand that isn't true?

It depends on what definition you use I suppose. I was saying you can keep a plant in a small container its whole life with it having a full root system without any problems from it being "root bound" other than since its got a smaller root system to support the canopy than if you transplanted you get a smaller plant. People do party cup sea of green grows w/o any problems.
