How Long Can You Leave Your Grow Unattended?

One of the reasons I want to do bubble is if I need to travel for work or take vacation.

How long can a bubble setup be left alone?

I am thinking that as long as there is enough water/nutes, and a screen to keep the growth away from the HPS, then it will be OK.

Anyone ever left their operation for a week?

I am planning a bubble/SOG, with 400w hps, and a veg room for mothers with floros.

Like Lady stated, I can typically leave them alone 6 days, however, when I get home they are almost dried out and starving..which is just more stress I think...so I HATE to be gone more than 3 days. Especially during bloom when I am feeding every three days..Fortunately

and again, that is only if I have to...now in the event I am home everyday, they get my attention everyday, at least once...love em!!

Yeah, dont want to leave them alone, but sometimes shit happens.

I guess as long as they arent in late bloom, a large enough reservior could keep em alive for a week.

Depends on the nutes you use,if they keep the ph stable.once a week. But not tending to your babies atleast 2-3x a week can fux shit up cause thats when they need the most attention, after that its a breeze

I have left my grow for 6 days once. They were around 6 weeks old at the time, and before I left I changed the water, filled the reservoir higher than normal, PH adjusted it a bit low (5.7--I usually bring it to 5.8), raised the lights, and left.

The worst thing that happened was that the top of one plant still ran into the lights and seared that bad boy off (it was a diesel ryder so I didn't lose a big main cola.) Surprisingly, the PH wasn't as high as I thought given how I adjust it down every day. I think it topped out at 6.3 which wasn't that bad considering I can jump to 6.05 in a day sometimes with bubble system. I brought it down when I got home and the plants were fine.

Next time just put a screen under the light.

I've left mine for two weeks I just filled a 20 gallon trash can with phd water raised the lights a foot and a half or so and put a float switch in the res. Keeps it full for a while and the ph didn't move too much. Don't reccomend it but they didn't seem to notice

Don't you guys drain and refill with fresh pH'd water + new nutes every 1-2 weeks??
Smoke we are only talking about if we HAD to leave. I never go more than 7 days without a water change. If I can't, my wife will....so yes...minimum 7 day flush for me!!!

Yea drain to waste you change water and nutes every week days so you have to tend to em once a week like this..recirculating can go more.
so you drain and refill weekly?

that doesn't seem like drain to waste if you're recirculating for a week at a time.

drain to waste means you water/feed and whatever runs out is discarded.

i don't want to argue, i'm just trying to understand your technique because i know you grow some dank.

Yea man i feel you but i think you still in the dark...
You mix up nutes for 1 week and they eat off those nutes for 1 week. After that week is up you drain and put new water, nutes in the res.
Recirculating uses the same water and nutes over and over again..hope this helps bro

we have different connotations here, and connotations are always subjective.

to be entirely objective:

drain to waste means after the solution passes through the root zone once it is discarded.

recirculate means that after the solution is passed through the root zone once, it is collected and reused, usually multiple times.

if you have your roots suspended in a container of solution that's recirculating hydroponics.

every bubbleponic or dwc setup i've seen is recirculating.

i can overlook you assuming my ignorance if you can tolerate my persistence, lol.
