how long did it take you to become at least satisfied with your harvest

just as the title sais. how long did it take for you to finally feel like you reached a point where you're consistant with the quality
of bud you're growing.

how did your first grow go and what was the quality?

figure id ask some ?'s out of curiosity.

My first grow got eaten before harvest. So not satisfied lol. Man, so long ago, but I think it was my third harvest that I felt I got a great yield. Only in the past year or2 did I start with indoor,and had to learn to grow all over again. First indoor harvest, quantity was awesome, quality was ok. Second harvest though was great all around. Third a few issues. Quality was great, quantity suffered.

i was satisfied with my first effort.
but i didnt dive into it, i read plenty here.
i grew 8 bluecheese plants in 11ltr pots and got 18oz of smelly goodness.
i also have friends that grow and we share our knowledge between us too.

on my second grow i got good smoke, though not alot of it

(on my first grow i got a gram of totally potency free bud (funnily, totally the same plant which stoned me crosseyed on following harvests (11w cfls on the first try and various unsound environment as well )

my 1st grow was a bust...way too damn cold, and not anywhere near enough light
my 2nd grow was a semi-bust, just grew 2 LR#2's in a stealth small box, had heat issues, and scrapped it early
my 3rd grow was a success and decent harvest considering how ghetto it was

This is a very good question!

I like to say that your harvest from your first grow should be measured entirely in how much you learn. You are supposed to have a learning curve or you're not learning. I'd say I got it dialed in on about my 4th or 5th grow. Also, it helps a lot if you pick a good old stable strain and grow it exclusively. Your plants are your best teachers, but if you're all over the place with strains and other changes, you're like jack of all trades and master of none.

I guess I knew I had it when I threw all the charts and meters and old wives tales out the window and began listening to my plants and following my gut.

well since i can read, and use the internet. every harvest is fantasic, great results form the start, with subcools super soil, Fox farm nutes, home made guano teas. Just read these foums and seach google alot.

And fortunately, everyone on the internet agrees and there are no conflicts that might confuse a newcomer.

My last grow (5th propper) where i swapped to hps and still had loads left from grow 4 so i dried the buds slowly for 9 days and cured for 6 weeks... I put a gram in 3 little baggies from an earlier Amsterdam trip and gave them to 3 mates and told them a friend brought it back from amsterdam and all 3 said it was some of the best they had ever smoked... Success at last!!!

1st grow was a bust cause I tried to grow 6 bagseed plants under like 150W CFL total (lol). Got buds but they were fluffy, weak, and tasted gross.

I got it together on the 2nd grow and harvested a couple of beauties.

First grow was my first time growing anything at all. I did the required homework, and other than pulling one down courtesy of one of those fangled 2 prong PH meters, the other 3 strains grew just lovely, about 2 ounce per plant.

I wasn't trying to be rude or anything, I was just anwering the qustion "How long did it take you to become at least satisfied with your harvest" All my harvest have been more than satisfieing from the start, and I owe that to reading and researching on the internet. yes there is alot of conflicking info on the web, but you have to sort though it and take what you need, All the info to grow DANK cannabis is right at your finger tips, you just gotta find it. there is a ton of info

my first indoor grow i got great quality but not much quantity. i was using floro light and hadn't quite understood how to get the most out of it and i started off small. small pots, small grow space, single chamber to both veg and flower.

each grow after that got progressively better.

i think for a lot of us, we got to harvest, decided what we didn't like about it, and then asked and read up on how to improve it. some of us are more thick-headed than others and stop listening when we hear something we don't like and it takes longer. some people don't pay enough attention and miss a lot of cause-and-effect right in front of their eyes and instead look to internet gurus and magic potions. everyone's curve is different.

i'm one of those who has to fuck it up myself to really learn something. reading is the fuel. experience is the igniter. you need both.

I am just finishing my first round of growing and probably looking to harvest next week. I feel like I put in the right amount of planning so I am happy with it. Even though I hope it's only going to get better from here. I'll check back once they weigh in.

I should have said, i had not problem with ahrvesting, but i certainly had a bit of trouble getting my drying room keyed in, that effected everything.

I read about every aspect of growing before I ever bought a seed rather than jumping into it and then reading as a bunch of people do and every grow I have done has been a success by most peoples standards.
