It's hard to say how long it takes anyone. Some people do great on their first grow and the next one is a bitch. It's a constant learning experience because every strain and sometimes every plant is different. You say your plant is still small. What type of light are you using?

ive been growing now for 3 to 4 years... it took about 2 grows to get soil down for me.. which was over about 6 months.. i had some trouble after that.. but nothing that was in my control...

i just recently changed from soil to hydro and switched grow room locations.. i ran into some issues during the setup and change over of everything.. and had a little bit of learning to do with the hydro.. but having the experiences to go from before, and the knowledge i had gained throughout my grows, it was much quicker and easier to understand and fix my problems (1 month)...

I have been growing nearly a year and still don't have it right. Thanks to riu I am much better than I used to be.

1.5 months and only 4"? What kind of lights are you using? Some strains start slow, but that is much slower than most. The more info you can give the more help you can get.

My dude, go to the FAQ section and if you have questions that can't be answered there come back and i'm sure you can get all the help you need. You will have to provide specifics as to your grow conditions and so forth, but I like your never give up attitude.
