how long should i leave my lights on when growing seedlings and through the vegetive period?

18 ON / 6 OFF

Some people do 24 hours on.... but I think the majority does 18/6.

It's a personal decision. I do 24 on/ 0 off . . . others 18/6, 20/4, etc . . . be sure the off time, if you choose to do any, is at night and/or the coolest part of the day.

24 hours on up untill 2 weeks old. then drop it to 20/4 for a week this will promote root growth then for veg go 18/6 for 3 weeks then 12/12 till you smoke her
