How long for roots to establish?

Once you see the taproot come through the bottom of a rockwool cube, how long should you wait before transferring it into a larger container? After 4 days popping out of the surface, I carefully put my r/w cube & baby into it's new home in a 16 oz party cup (mini hempy) and I think I might have done it too soon now. It's only been 1 day and I can't say I notice a difference or anything but I see these pics of 15 roots popping out of a r/w cube that people are growing clones in before they transplant and now i'm thinking I might have made a mistake....any advice?

I don't understand why you are going through so much trouble. If you are going from seed to seedling then why even transplant if indoors? Just germinate the seed and plant it right in the pot you plan to use. You should not transplant it unless you are going from inside to the outside. You might even slow it down if you shock it. In a 7 inch pot you can grow at least a 15 inch plant in 24 days if you use my rapid grow methods. My last plant bloomed small little nuts in 24 days and would be sooner if I would have adopted the proper seed planting methods by at least 2 days. Now that was a male and they bloom faster than females but still, 24 days!

The reason I transplanted was because I was under the impression that it was better to keep the seedling in a humidity dome then transplant to the container you plan to complete the grow in....bad assumption I suppose. Point taken. From now on i'll just plant my r/w cube right in the 16oz party cup.

You should be able to keep a small space like a portion of your closet at 50% humidity without any help. If you are getting < 50% then try placing a plastic water catcher under the pot with fish gravel and place water in that. The water will evaporate and help you along. So, yeah, just go straight for the gold man.
