How long should I wait to put the seedlings into the drip or bubbleponics system?
Makes no sense to put seedlings of yet unknown sex into your flowering area. Seedlings must be vegged to sexual maturity (preflowers showing at nodes), usually takes 6-8 weeks, before you can sex them. Would suck to get a few weeks into flowering and have to pull half the plants (seeds are 50% M/F on avg) out due to a bad case of
balls!
Once the plant is sexually mature, then you can take a cutting, get it to set root and put it under 12/12 to determine sex, while leaving the donor under veg cycle light.
Alternatively, you can cover one branch of the yet sex-unknown plant for 12h/day while keeping it under a veg light cycle (18+h/day). It's important to keep the donor plant in veg for best success with cuttings should it turn out to be female.
Once you have known female donors (which you can then rightfully call 'mums'), you have an endless source of female plants to start flowering- with no ballsy disappointments!
