How long till it will start growing more leaves?

So I'm growing my first plant and it looks pretty healthy. But it only has 4 leaves and two of them are rounded. When do you think it will start growing more? It's about four inches tall and is a week and a day old sense it sprouted.

It also hasn't looked like the leaves have got any bigger in the past 3 day is that ok?
Hey there;

I'm really new to this too. I've seen other grow journals that have plants WAY bigger then mine in the same time. Some of it is probably genetics, but I think a lot of it was the light. I didn't switch from a couple florescent to a 400 MH until 3ish weeks in. I think that was my problem. (It took me that long to get the heat management in place, etc.)

Can you tell us more about your grow?
- What kind of light are you running?
- How big is the space?
- What genetics are the plants?
- What's your watering schedule look like?
- How big are the pots?

Sence this is my first plant I didn't want to but expensive lights so I only have 2 75w Cfls
The space is a little small but I think it's big enough it's 1x1x3
It's just a bag seed
I water them whenever there dry a couple inches into the ground
The pot it is in right now is pretty small but I'm going to repot it at the end of the week

depends on the strain, my fisian dew has barely any leaves, though it's a sativa and the leaves it does have are HUGE!

my ak48s r a sativa/indica mix tho so idk it sposed to be a short stocky plant real dense n my leaves r real small prolly like 1" long

Growth depends on environmental conditions as well. More light=more growth. Little guys like yours are growing roots that you can not see. So don't think that anything is wrong because you can't see anything happening. Someone once said to me, "leave it alone, it'll grow." I think he was referring to something else but the same advice applies here.

After the seedling breaks the surface and puts out its first true single blade leaves - not the little round first ones, they are cotyledons, but its first real leaves, it rests and focuses on building a root system. About a week later, it will start to grow again.

well thnx for the advice guys cuz im thnkn they dead n evry1 jus ses let em b theyll grow so im gettn frustrated this bein my 1st grow n all but tomorrow will b 2 weeks so ill post sum new pics

High temps and humidity can also stunt a seedlings growth. Getting your light close is all well and good, but if you don't have enough air circulation and the air around the plant gets stale and hot it will take a while to become sturdy enough to grow up and out.

How much are you watering them? Plants that small should not be needing much water yet. What spectrum light are you using? Make sure you have a high color temp light for veg, that'll help.
