How long to agitate trim in washing machine for buble hash?

I have the small machine. I let my first batch sit in the ice water for a half hour and just stir by hand. 10 min washes on the 4-5 run and it starts to go green. I think it’s best to just bump the machine on for a second every 5-10 minutes. Or better yet just hand stir gently.

Yeah, that's what keeps blowing my mind the more I look into it. I'm inclined to go with the Frenchy method just because that's a dude who knows his hash, but people seem to be getting great results with all sorts of methodology.

Obviously the only thing to be done is make a bunch of hash and develop my own techniques. Oh the humanity! However will I survive this torture?

So many ways to skin the cat, usually gets better after the 5th or so cat ;)

I also start with a shit ton of ice. I mix let it sit, mix let it sit.

Very nice! I'm actually running some bodhi also lol just some very frosty trim from thunder and purple wookie. I plan on freezing pucks and then micro planeing into new pizza boxes to dry then pressing and rolling into temple balls. Do you only use 3 catch bags?
Thanks man. Those wookies sound nice, you cant go wrong with a wookie cross :-P

Yes, after a couple washes I could see what I was catching and took a few bags out. I went 120, 90, 45. After a few runs it wasnt worth keeping the 73 in so I took it out, not minding if it mixed with the 45. According to Frenchy, it all depends on the strain on head size. I'm pretty green when it comes to bubble, but i follow Frenchy's method closely. Less ice, less agitation (but more washes), cold environment, cold tools. He's using a freeze dryer now I believe which is a far better way of drying hash, retains terps much better. I think the drying is the trickiest part imo. I'll have to wait on a freeze dryer until the price on the ones with oilless pumps comes down by a lot lol

I'd like to see the planing method if you think of it. That looks really nice after its shaved, I'd like to try it sometime

Yeah those freeze dryers atm are far out of my price range too unless I can find some other way to justify it to the Mrs. Lol

I'll go sure be taking some pics and post them up somewhere!

You indeed can agitate too much. I had a buddy that wasted an lb of top shelf trim by overdoing it. Although, his ass was using a damn Bosch drill and a paint whip in 5 gal bags, lol. It was hella green.
Been there. Done that. Came out black. Not dark green. Black. Get one of those little washing machines like Frenchy uses.

I'm much happier with these results. Now to freeze em and microplane for drying, and then I'll press some hash rosin later.

I think I'm gonna stop using the 160 in the future and just catch it all in 120 to toss (or toss on bowls or whatever, it's clearly low grade)

Do yourself a favor and press them into hash rosin ASAP :D

Pretty much all of this is destined to be pressed into hash rosin most likely. I'm not sure if I've got enough of the 120 stuff to be worth keeping.

What's the best way to collect this stuff off the pressing screen? It's a sticky mess lol

I'm still playing with times. But really short from my over cycling. Down to 5 minutes and too long for first run. Taints entire batch. Still smokes good. And presses well.

Personal batches I don't think need cure. But any amount or storage is better with the oils sealing it. Low temp pressing to release the oils or Frenchy method. Plaques or balls at that amount.
Cool. Thanks man! I have yet to invest in a press but have been looking at a few. For now I have done some runs before by hand without a washer. And presses and rolled but pretty small volume. Planning on doing the same with these. Will be my first larger volume run and the first with the washer. So it should be interesting!

It all depends on the quality you want... if you beat the shit out of it sure you will get a bunch more but there is a much great chance you break the resin heads and stalks (I've watched so much frenchie that I say this in my head with his accent hahahaha) personally I am going to do many quick washes until I start seeing a very large reduction in my output then maybe one final long wash once I have got all my top shelf stuff I want, just to make sure I have everything.
I seem to think in a French accent while making bubble hash too! Lol! And it really seems to help... Do short washes. The first, after a soak of about a half an hour, should be less than a minute. Then another short wash and just keep increasing the wash time until the return has diminished to the point you decide to stop. And really work the resin heads (with the fan setting on your hose) while they are in the bags, it really helps to make a nicer, cleaner product.
I have used all the bags in an eight bag set but eventually got down to 220 and 190, 160, 45 and the 25(in a bucket in my 30 gallon catch basin). Each bag has its own bucket with the bottom cut off too.
Following Frenchie's advice and techniques will lead to amazing results... Here's a five gram temple ball I made the other day-20210131_144234.jpg

Ive just left mine after wash,no pressing.I like the taste better and easy to just take a few granules and drop in the bowl.
Yeah, I do it both ways. And sometimes I also just press it flat and leave it, too.20210131_130637.jpgit's easier to tear a piece off that way. The temple balls are for long term storage and aging. So many good things happen to the resin while it's aging that, in my opinion, it is worth it to take the extra steps required. We'll if you have enough to justify it, I guess.

I still have almost an ounce of loose bubble from this plants trim so far. More of that plant to go and four more plants trim I haven't even gotten to yet.
