depends,i wouldnt use them past 3 months if theyve been refigerated, altho im sure its been done..i just would wanna chance contams or at the very least waste a jar..id also keep an l.c. and do away with the syringe after l.c. is . established..much simpler

that's what I thought
l.c's have a much longer shelf life than a spore syringe correct? or about the same?
I had never got around to making a l.c. but have been contemplating getting back into mycology
I guess I will be getting some new spores
Thanks again

properly stored lc have a long shelf life..if you begin to think expiration is imminent, transfer some to a new culture..

Spores are not meant to keep for long periods in water. Eventually they will break down from any number of reasons. Some syringes come with activated charcoal in them, these seem to last longer. I have had some oyster mushrooms in such solution for 3 years come back to life but they were refrigerated and wrapped against the light. If you are in doubt, use some agar rather than waste your time on other instant methods.

I have used syringes both stored in a warm, dark closet and a dark refrigerator for over 8 months and they both worked just fine. Although, it is much better and more convenient to just keep some spore prints on hand for long term keep.
