that is not an inline fan, its a duct booster and it is very weak so it probably wont be too loud. i have a 4" vortex which was pretty loud for my 1 br condo.. i bought a speedster inline fan control and lowered the speed a bit. . pretty damn quiet now. . anyways. . no that duct booster will not be loud. .

If I have a 4 by 2 foot tent, would two of these, one at the top and one at the bottom be enough to keep air circulating through my tent. The tent will be inside a closet that is an average walk in closet with the door closed. And when you say quiet could you have it going in a room and not be able to notice it. I have a bug man who comes to my apartment and I cant let him hear any noise coming from my closet. Thanks for you replies too

Id get the same thing but a 6 inch one for the top. I have tents too and if you are using a carbon filter you'll need a 6 inch. You can use a 4 inch for intake. Between my two tents and 4 fans and 2 osillating fans, its still very quiet. You hear a low hum if you really pay attention but with some light music on you wont notice at all. Even without music its pretty damn quiet. I have one of those 6 inch vortex fans and it was like a god damn jet pack and loud as hell. I found I dont need it. I have the same fans your looking at and they are nice and quiet. Mine have been running 24/7 since Sept. and still work great

i have that same fan (or the same thing any way) bought it at the local hardware for 20 bucks . I also have it in a walk in an i can hear the 1 outside the door of the closet when its closed but its not bad. it might be quieter if you had some kind of ducting on it I am just running the fan as an exhaust right now.

Sometimes the places where they are riveted together don't mate completely and you get a terrific whistle/whiny noise that can be heard through walls and far away. I recommend you invest in a Vortex & speed controller.
