From what I've read. 50 cm's or 16 inches with HPS.My questions .......... never used HPS so...........
1. Its 100w hps I will be taking it out of the box it is in and wonder can i attach the balast (not including a cap doesnt have one) to a piece of wood or will it get to hot and ciatch fire?
I will attach bulb and reflector to L bracket and to wooden frame.
2. How far does this 100w bulb need to be from the top of the plant?
I know it cant be as close as CFL's (1 to 3 inches).
How many cfls to flower with A+ results~!

i get my 250 hps 3 inches from plants. you should be able to too!

Aladdin are you using a cool tube? IF not how are you cooling the blub also from the chart I don't know if that intense like is good or better than normal? Will you show results if so?
No body mentioned can I mount the balast to wood our will it get to hot? I am talking about the stuff beinging pointed at in the photo with the yellow arrows since I have not a clue what the parts are called independently, just that collectively it is "the ballast" any and all answers will be read! sometimes just not considered!

P.S. I know still no reflector but haven't found any thing that will work I did flip the whole rack over as to lover the mounted bulbs (as apposed to the leader lights hanging) about 4" closer and adjusted the leader (side) lights. I just got a new bulb LOWES $14.95 ON CLEARANCE for 100w bulb, IMOP way to much but the rest was free so cant bitch! It was a torn down building site and it was just laying on the ground, promise! And I used to do shit like that, USE TO! Not any more KARMA is a bitch!

I only use 12 cfls 2700k and i get about 3 and a half ounces
