How many people have failed on there first grow or 2?

85 to 60 is hardly that bad a temp swing.

ok my first grow i was about 14 and got a bag of white widow from my friend bought a 1/2 oz and found one seed in the whole bag. planted it in a milk cartan and placed it in the window in the down stairs breakfast room thinks thats what that fucking room was supposed to be called. anyways it flowerd grew about 1 foot tall nice and thick buds then one day my lil bro decided to take a leaf off it and bring it to school and got caught with it, he was going around Jr high school telling everyone he had weed lol. the cop said that it wasnt weed just aregino leaf. but anyways my dad who lived 11 hours away drove all the way to my house and was there when i got home from school they took my plant so i lost that one. lol then when i got these 10 seeds i went to lowes bought those blue flood like looking lights and after reading around on the site about putting lights 2 inchs away from soil it fried the seeds ='/ but on the next 2 seeds they made it all the way through and am now growing the remaining 6 =D

My first grow was 5 plants. They all grew great but 4 were male. Probably because I caused them soooo much stress. Thought I had the growing thing down but second grow was 2 plants and I gave them ferts way too early. They were so stunted they never got larger then about 3 inches and I gave up on them. It's been going very well ever since, but I still learn tons every single day.

First time I grew was a fail grow as well.
It was plagued with "I can do this cuz i can garden" myths.
Which would have been true, if i was growing outside

1) Lost 8 seeds down the drain... dammit ($75 for 10 pack)
2) Of the last 2, 1 didnt sprout (Soil PH was probably way... way off)
3) The 1 plant i did get was grown under a 150watt incandecent.
4) it grew 4 feet tall, had 6 leaves in total (LOL) and was a hermie.
5) I did get about 1 gram off it

Was the most pitiful white widow ive ever seen

My first grow was a success, though I burned up my fan leaves with too much bloom food too early in flowering. I stressed over every droop, bend, and leaf curl and was so paranoid about overwatering that the first 4 weeks was like growing in the Mojave desert. Got about 11 zips off it under 400W - despite me, not because of me. So, of course, now I'm Mr Smarty Pants who knows how to grow weed, right? Well, this time around, since I'm such a natural grower and all, I just set 6 seeds, assured I'd get at least two fems. Well, I got one, and it's a leggy stark bitch with about a half dozen bud sites and 3 miles of stem. So, my current grow blows, and any pro would laugh his / her ass off at it. In fact, I'm laughing at myself while typing this..

And I think the high male ratio was from putting my superskunks in pre-ferted MG soil -- they did not like that at first. They grew into it and looked fantastic before I pulled them, but had a long stress period for sure.

So I guess the moral is... if your first grow turns out well, don't be suckered by beginner's luck.
