People aren't using them because of cost vs production. I can get a decent mag, hood and bulb for $300.

CMH Fucking ROCKS!!!! Have you done any HPS grows with you current setup to compare to the CMH? If so, I bet the CMH produced better results, their spectrum is completely unmatched VS any other HID lamp. Philips released a new line of CDM (ceramic discharge metal halide) lamps that run from 145W to 860W, the 830W & 860W (Pictured Below) runs on 1000W magnetic MH ballasts and is rumored to be the next HID game changer, this bulb is going to produce some AMAZING RESULTS!!!!

I'm really interested in this bulb, but I was wondering about the difference in wattage between the bulb and ballast. Does running an 830w bulb on a single 1000w ballast draw the same as running a 1000w bulb on a single 1000w ballast?

Magnetic, because if you are so inclined you can build them yourself and replace parts that burn out as they burn out. (Not sure if this is the case with digi, never had one). Have had the same 400w for almost 7 years already still going strong never had a problem with it and I built it.

I will look at LED light when I talk to some people getting anywhere close to the same results as HID. I can easily pull 4+ oz per plant in soil with HID lights, I have yet to talk to anyone using led getting those kind of results on a standard cycle.

1 digital in veg and 3 magnetic in flower. I prefer magnetic because it's cheap, reliable, doesn't have the bulb compatibility issues...did I mention cheap?

Yes I replace that as well every so often have heard of it having some drop off after a while, not sure if its true I just change it because its cheap, easy, and it doesn't hurt any to do it. I don't want to use anything that has the propensity of getting my op noticed.

magnetic here no problems with it here . seems to be an electricity eater though
