a question that will plage man kind for the next 30 years...many dif stories you will hear but here my 2 cents on that...soil gives better flavor an smell..while hydro gets bigger buds an faster growth...both make weed potent...peace gb1
soil buds taste more on the earthy and green side, unless you use guano, which gives a fruity taste.
not true i dont use guano an some of my plants have a defenite fruit taste..genetics are this one...peace gb1

My aero tubs I put max of 6 plants in them as they will fill up fast.Anymore then that and it just crushes the next plant. In hydro the growth is faster the smoke is cleaer and growing areas are smaller. The speed is the biggest benefit about half the grow time is needed.Soil grown weed as said above does have a more earthy musty tatse which is nice too but its little harsher going down as it has bigger particles in it from the soil that burn little dirtyier if you will. I like both to smoke but like the quick clean yoelds in hydro/aero.Hydro gets fatter buds usually unless you got big containers and big rooms for soil buckets.Soil can yeild more per plants but does take alot longer and needs more care in my opinion.

nice thanx for the info, rite now finishing up my soil grow and yea it can get pretty messy but been doing my home workk and saw dwc had great benefits with great results so ill give it a try so then if i push only 6 plants per tub and ill be growing a total of 12 plants would you recommend a 400w or just stick with the 1000w ???

I am using a 20 litre Rubbermaid bin, modified the lid for 5 plants. I think this is all it could take as would run out of room for the roots. :peace:

Uses the Rollitup profile
An easy way to calculate your light requirements is to use Watts/sqft of canopy. For a serious grow, you want at least 50w/sqft. So for your 4x4 growing area, a 1000w lamp will give you 62.5 w/sqft.

HTH

Id actually go with a 600 watt light its actually the better coverage and most cost efficent but if its only a 400 or 1000 choice do the 1000 if you can afford it and good closed glass relector with fans

air stone/air pump on 24/7.. its the oxygen for your plant so dont want it to drown!

and look for some rockwool cubes for starting seeds

your in the same situation as me, sorry to hi-jack the thread but how many plants would people recomend for a 70 litre (15gal) tub? im planning to veg them for around 4 weeks max.

Because ther cuttings from the same mother does it matter about the roots being in one tub together?? i think il be ok but not too sure... the more different strains you have in one tub the more problems youl have surely
