How many plants per ft under a 1000 watt?

Will be doing a grow under 2 1000 watt HPS and was wondering how many I can pack in. Will be using aeroponics, and will only be vegging the clones 3 weeks. Am planning on SOG, and was planning to get 75 plants into a 4x8 but another member suggested I place them at least every 12 inches apart, though he keeps his plants 16 inches apart. What do you guys think? Do you really get more with fewer plants?

4x8 mabey 64 give them some spacing otherwise fixing anything in there would be a bitch
