How many plants should I use in my hydro system?

I am a new grower and I am trying to get the best possible yield from my hydro system.
so far i have:
4 1000w mh/hps lights with the proper ventilation and fan.
10 65w cfl bulbs multi spectrum.
Air scrubber, Oscillating fans and brand new ac for temperature control.

I have 3 of these 24planters systems. I also have nutes Ph stuff. Temp/ppm meter.

My question is how many plants should I grow to get the best yield? Im not sure if I should
grow 4 or 6 small plants in each container and run a quick veg ans flowering, or should I grow
2 or 3 plants in each container and grow a long veg with proper care? Should I consider auto-flowering? Im not totally sure what it is but this is why im asking the experts for advise.

What am I missing? How can I get the best yield with what I have?
What strain should I go with? Size, flowering and veg times?
Should I grow many taller plants or less smaller bushy plants?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
damn .. a new grower with 4K MH/HPS !!!!!

and prober equipment .. hat off :) not yet another nub with 2x23W CLF ...

but tell me .. what is your space ? dont know much about hydro .. but with 4x1K MH/HPS I reccon 4 big or 8 small under each if you have the room for it ? then they will get plenty of light .. also set it up if possible so they overlap eachother ..


and good luck .. I hope you did your research .. and can handle isues and problems when they turns up along the way ..
I have grown plenty out doors and i did only start with a 600W and 2 plants in soil and its plenty to handle ..
 
The room I'm growing in is 15 by 15. And yes thanks I tried to do all the research I can.
I have been researching for months and this is my only issue. Quality and quantity are major factors.
I don't smoke. Im just trying to please the customers and who better to ask than the experts. Lol
 
you can get a much better system than that for a few bucks more. look at an cap ebb monster for instance.
 
No answer on seed question but my suggestion would be to load it up all the way with feminized seed. I dont personaly like the autos I have had problems getting them to germ. With that said get the feminized and just use straight water when germinating. Dont add any nutes till you have four or five nodes.

Also you need to get some t5s as the lights you have will burn the seedlings up. Use t5s until they are ten inches tall minimum.
 
yea .. start your seedlings on a table in a doom ... with some clf/T5

with so many money spend .. the extra 100$ would be well spend ..

can also use it to make new ones ready for your next runn wile you finish your flowering .. so you have nice new once ready ..

also .. I would consider to make two rooms ..

one small 1/3 for the table with seedlings and 1K MH for Veg plants ..

and then set up a big room 2/3 with them 3 1K HPS as flowering room ..

if you set em up right you can cover a lot of space .. or even better use another few hundret bucks and get light movers ..

if you want to do this big scale and to sell .. do it right ..

if you set it up like that with 2 rooms .. you can haverst evry seccon month or so ..

and please grow normal seeds .. better quality .. not so many problems ..

and with two rooms its not a problem ..

they are also cheaper and you can make a mother plant or 3 and cloen em ..

will safe you a lot of money in time ..

could also consider stuff like rain coletor/bucket water is not free and you will use a lot ..

I think since his first time, fem seeds and load it up is the best idea that way if he has issues with a few plants he still has a good grow. Since he has three when he adds and or increases nutes he can do to one of them as a test for five days and if it does not work out he still has the other two going that are ok.

Kind of testing the waters so to say, it is his first time, I started with one plant and screwed it up and then the second but there was a lot of time between. I wish I would have started with several as the first grow would have been a sucsess.
 
And I originally wanted a veg and flowering room. Im trying to go big and do it right like you said. I have an extra room that I could use for a flowing room. Im not totally sure how to run a veg room and flowering room with clones. I haven't did much research on clones and running two rooms. But it is a goal! Lol as for the t5s I have some 8000 lumen CFLs I planned to use for the early growth so I wouldn't burn them with the mh lights.
 
Okay and is there a problem with using fem. Seeds? Someone said that I should only use normal seeds. I planned to use fem seeds because I figured it would eliminate seeds which I don't want and save me losing plants because they are male.

Yes its your first time use feminized seeds dont mess with the men or the breeding till you have a few grows. I still dont mess with it.
 
good ..

CLF fist week or so ..

then 1 of your 1000W lamps with a MH bulb in it .. 3-4 feets away .. moveing them down over time ..

after 3-8 weeks .. depending on how long veg time you want (4-6 is kind a normal with big scale)

you move em in to your flowering room with them 3x1000W lamps but with HPS bulbs in them for flowering ..

when you move em in you can star new seedlings .. so after two weeks they can be move from the CLF to the MH ..
then another 6 and your haverst and your room is ready for the next runn .. aso. aso. aso. or what ever fit and you find out work for you ..

yes this is true and a very good place to start...like you say he can play about with them and do test.......some rep there mr :bigjoint:
 
So I should load them up with fem seeds? Then grow them for a short veg so they won't get too big? I really don't want them fighting for space and light and I'd hate for them to get out of control on me.. that's 72 possible plants lol

yea that is a good point and one I entent to follow myself on my next runn ..

6-7 weeks veg. is just to much for me .. to big plants to handle .. to big pots .. and even more importent .. if you grow a shorter time you will mostlikely also experiance less problems .. not a lot of time to get rootbound (I know that wont happen for you in hydro) but also less time for you to screew up ..

I think 4 weeks will do .. maybe 5 if I FIM em as I will ..
