How many times can you TOP a plant?

I search the site before posting this but i cant seem to find anything. How far along should the plant be before you top it and how many times can you top until is unbenifical? if you know of a link please post it.

It depends on what your triyng to accomplish. For example. Im growing a plant all summer, so normally it would get pretty damn tall. However I do not want it to get tall, for security purposes, so im going to start topping it after the 6th node, and continue to top several times after that.

You can top as many times as you want, and basically as soon as you want. I would say beginning at about the 5th node, you can top it whenever.

i never knew you could top more than once.
i thought if u wanted more than just topping is fimming.
wonder what a fimmed plant looks compared to a topped plant thats been pinched more than once.

Fim is a topping method. You cut a cup shape in the top node instead of cutting the whole top off. You could top it til the cows come home as long as you don't put it on the flowering light schedule. It will not increase yeild. Oh it could increase the yield from that one plant if you increase the length of time its vegging. That doesn't increase yield over time. VV
