Good point

I recently had two seperate notices for 24 hours entry.

1st time was to check the AC and filter, the second time they wanted to replace lighting fixtures.I keep the extra bedroom locked however, and nobody asked for entry.

Can they figure out where the electricty is coming from, and can they tell increments of usage like when on 12/12???

I am growing legally for medicine, but I am still paranoid, because I don't trust the Gov to let me do it legally, and the Apt Manager would probably say it's against the renters agreement. My grow is very small though 1 flowering plant, 5 clones, and 2 seedlings.

I need advise please. Great Post by the way!! Good luck to all!!

Most apartments have an electrical room with meters numbered for every suite, that Apt Managers have keys to, and check on.

See how fast that meter is spinning.......

Ok.. 1000w is cool.. Then how many watts until you're flagged in an apartment? Just out of curiosity.
Cannot really say for sure but i know that you will be fine with a 1000w. If you are paranoid than just save some electricity by turning off lights in the house, appliances, dont leave tvs on ect ect. There was a grow on RIU where a guy had like 6 600's in his apt set up. It was pretty legit but he never had probs with electricty.

Whatta bout the 12/12 cycle? Do they look at usage and say hmm 12 hours on 12 hours off?? Is there a way to avoid that sorta detection if so...???

the issue of detection is really more about if the landlord can monitor the power usage of each apartment, another variable is how many apratments in your building.. If there are multiple apts on the same meter they cant tell who is using it ( and the more apts the better)

If he wants to sit there and watch for 12 hrs...maybe...point is, his bill spiked, and at any time whether or not he sees a meter spinning much faster than the others....i dont know, but he might look into it ? :-?

Risky if not ur own place or no permission to grow in rental

There are space heaters that run around 1500w so I don't think having a 1k will matter much. Smell, traffic, and loose lips are the things to watch out for initially.

I live in a DINKY apartment with a very nosy annoying manager and share walls and ceilings with 3 other apartments and I have about 2400w in HID's running not counting fans pumps and the like.

Dude do you live in the exact same building as me? They literally did the exact same thing here..

They HAVE to give us at least 24 hours notice to enter our apartment, and without their permission they can NOT enter under any circumstances, unless the place is on fire or flooding of course. It's in our lease as well. Thank god for Canada :)

My AC is also not set on during the wintertime, only our heating system. But they both use the same system, they just can't have both AC and heating switched on all the time. Sept-June our Heating is on, and the other months our AC is on.

LMAO I see i'm not the only one heh.

No, I definately don't live in Canada but I do live on earth.bongsmilie

Did you have a lock on the door? any Problems?

I was running AC during the summer but its gettin cooler now and shouldn't need anything except Co2. I will save some money in the winter as it's very moderate to semi cold, and the plants will be at a good temp.

thanx 4 tha input Temperamental69, hope you have a peaceful grow.:leaf:

Does the Apt Manager really check the meters you think? I thought only the electric co did, and that they might be able to monitor data for evidence of 12/12 cycle. ...breath, Breath......

Also southpaw:
If they can't tell on combined usage meters, then how do they bill them?

Thanks all an any1 I 4got :leaf: All Medicinal Stoners Unite!!

The funny thing is that im a legal medicinal personal grower and shouldnt worry, but I'm so used to seeing people screwed by the law, that I felt I need to worry anyways.
