how much better is a 600w (or 1000w)than a 400w mh/hps?

the 600 watt is the best for wattage to lumen ratio..

pulled this off of ebay since i couldn't get the info from htgsupply currently..

like a 400 watt hps will put out like 55'000 lumens, where a 1000 watt will put out 150'000 lumens.. a 600 watt will put out 90'000 lumens..

I believe 600w have the most lumen's per wat. Hmm it varies tbh dude and is a hotly debated subject among some.

A 1000w is going to cover a much larger area than a 600w, partly i guess since it can't be as close.

It all depends on the areas. I personally would rather use 2 x 600w in a space where a 1000w could go on its own.

A 1000w also produces more heat than a 600w.

You would see a large difference in bud production with either over a 400w.

Yes so are correct, the efficiency of a 600-watt HID is the highest rated of all present HID lights.

Another advantage is they do make the dual-arc MH-HPS bulbs for 600-watt lights, as do they for 400-watt and 1000-watt lights also, and using one will give the grower a combination of light spectrums their plants will greatly appreciate.

first MH lights are for veg and it does make a difference. 400w MH is great for veg and a 600 for flower is fine. I use both. The distant away should be judged by the heat on your hand above the tops. Too hot for you to hot for the plants. But that depands if you see your plants every day. If like me I see the plants every six days so I use 12 inches buffer plus one inch a day for growth, 18 inches total.. hope this helps

Hmm yes 2 x 600w would probably produce more heat. But what i said was A 1000w will produce more heat than A 600w.
