How Much Blood Meal?

on the box it says 2 pounds per 100 sq.ft. but i only have a plant that is in a round container that is 8.5"x8.5". how much should i add? i was going to sprinkle a tablespoon or so on the top of the top soil and kind of mix it in then water. any help please?

well i went ahead and made up a mixture of potting soil and vermiculite to add to the tops of my containers. i will fill the dirt up to the last set of leaves growing. i added three tablespoons to the mix and then watered it real good.
