How much did you spend on your grow room?

When I first wanted to get into indoor growing, I was very skeptical when people told me that it would take thousands of dollars.
Well I built my first grow room out of OSB plywood and 2X4's and I did it for less than $100.
My 2nd grow room which is for vegging, I built out of 2X4X6 steel shelving unit. Which ended up costing me $125
Now I know I saved quite a bit of money on the expense of my grow rooms. But what makes the plants actually grow efficiently is where the money lies.

3- 4 foot T12 ballasts and 6 bulbs for seedlings and cuttings - $35
1- 2 foot T5 fixture with 6 Bulbs for vegging - $175

With my calculations I'm up over $2000, Which does'nt include all the nutrient that I have bought already.
I love planting and I love it even more indoors. It gives me something to do. But for a hobby it surely is an expensive one.

I am primarily an outdoor grower, but I did take a half of a closet and set it up with a 400w HPS/MH for one winter grow per year, simple but effective ventilation, with everything else I need for about:

250$- and the green I crank out of that room is fire.

im building a rubber maid and i probaly already spent 300
and im not even done :S

Building a dual chamber cabinet. Porbably about 2.5 g... so far ....

about $1200 so far...... 400w switchable, bulbs, nutes, soil, pots, mylar, fans, T-5 flo fixture for seedlings and veg, rockwool, clonong gel, wire and outlets.

i grow outdoors so about 12 bucks for the season and i expect to get about 6 lbs. half pound per dollar is pretty efficient ehh?

sorry but thats no way beleivable for 6lbs!!!! you would for 1 nead a shit load of plants ( if you lucky seeds or clones can come for frea) if you did pots you would nead dirt and ecpecially if you getting 6lb you gunna nead some feralizers!!!!!!! but i am well of 5 grand so far 2 tents and a 12 by 20 room 7 1000w hps 2 400w hps 5 1000w mh and 15 t5's and of course dirt, hydro sytem, airconditioner, c02 sulder burner, and fans... WHOA it adds up!!!!!

Ive got a few thousand tied up.

As far as hobbies go if you think running a grow op is expensive you should try high end hifi,a few thousand bucks wont even buy you a cd player.

Im glad i found this thread because ive been dying to tell some one this. NO ONE can know that im growing.anyway .I was out yesterday looking for a 400 w hps with about $120 in my pocket ,i meet this wonderful woman and she tells me she has a lamp in her attic with some hydro stuff .....but she diddnt know what it was so i went to check it out...to get to the point.I spent $50 on:

600w hps. complete.
3 340 GPH airpumps
1 uvo3nair (ozone)
11 5 gl buckets already prepared
bunch a hoses , growing media, Nutes,etc.

I finally got that off my chest!!!!!

I'm up to $400 but I still need to buy lights for flowering and I haven't bought any soil, nutes, etc...will be around the $600 mark by the time I start...fark!

Depends on which grow room I talk about anywhere from #00 to $1400 for full out 4x8 grow tnets with tables lights and co2 injection tanks so tent set up with 1200 watts each looks like this
Two 4x8 grow tents total $300 shipped
Two 4x8 flood table I have these on hand bought for $135 each new so $270
Four 250 cfm fans 2 in each tent for in/outtake brand new total $50 shipped
2 100 gal res 1 in each tent total for both $55 new
4 600 watt digital lights new shipped $245 2 in each tent
4 small clip on fans to move air in each tent 2 in each total was $30
2 co2 20lb tanks I had these but bough them for $25 each used so $50 total
1/2 inch co2 hose for each total cost $15
2 new 4"x12" carbon scrubbers 1 in each tent cost new shipped $35 for both
1 550 cfm hydrofarm fan with 6"x24" carbon filter is new
2 air pumps for res with air stones new total for both $30 with stones
2 cycle timers for pumps $25
2 timers for co2 tanks $25
2 timers for lights $25
pvc and stand parts total $70 for both tents
80 6" square pots $50
50 lbs hydroton $35
80 4x4 rockwool cubes $85
2 co2 solenoid tank controllers I had both paid $35 each new so $70

So total without the nutes is right at $1470 not bad at all full grow tents,table,co2 setups,carbon scrubbers,filters,pumps,pots,everything.

Now on the nutes I will have 2 types to use.I will use Fox Farm nutes in 1 setup using grow Big, Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom.I will use Fox Farms Beatsie Bloomz and grotek super h202 in these unit total for the nutes here is $120..The second tent will get a new set of nutes as my local dro store loves me so much they gave me a whole new round of Dutchmasters Connisouer nutes including thier Grow A&B ,Bloom A&B,silica,light penetrator,potash and then a free toss in round of Humboldt Counties Gravity,purple max and bushmaster

$400 bucks (T5 system, 400w MH, 400w HPS) $300 bucks (2 squirrel cage fans, 2 inline fans, and a carbon filter) $200 bucks (mylar, poly film, soilless mix, nutrents, ebb & flow tray, hydro rocks, misc.) I'm about $800 in and need a few more things.

I have already spent $500 and am going to have to start over in another place soon.

Although it may be expensive initially, think of all the money you can save down the line... My habit costs me $4-5K per year right now...

50$ for my first grow got a 250whps and botianicare micro ebb and flow for 50$ but then went soil for the next grow so about 100 total but this is super small scale and Im just getting ready for a new setup

well i use bagseed, jiffy pots, neighbors garden dirt,(they live a mile away and till in ferts at the beginning of the year) i had 20 in the ground by the beginning of april. and i have ferts that i used last year. which i paid maybe 10 bucks for last year(organic grow and bloom boosters). so this year im about 12 bucks in if that much

about 900 dollars
