how much extra UV watts for a 400w tent?

what "job"? MH is only better in vegging and HPS for flowering. be aware from the hypes

ok thanks, i heard MH at the end, but also MH at the vegging.

I have a MH 250w lamp but no ballast anymore. should i get one, just for vegging?

if you want to save on electric then go ahead but HPS can surely veg too

what about the lack of blue spectrum..? is there anything in the lack of UV-A UV-B argument?

I don't know by how much it will be better to use MH, but i know HPS will veg a plant very well. for a new grower, there are many many more important factors that will affect his yield than vegging with hps. my MH lays there unused for years because i dont want the fuss of placing and replacing it because it's not worth it for a week's veg period which I do with clones.
