How much income are you losing to the covid-19 pandemic?

Local historic bookstore shutting down. That's 20 [edit: 30 to 50; as told to me by a former employee] or so more locals out of work. @Fogdog is Powells still open up there?

Nevermind, I answered my own question..

Their main store is a great meandering maze. A wonderful time can be had by browsing and finding a seat to spend time. Wish we could do that kind of thing now. But they are right. No way they could keep it clean and social distancing to the levels needed.

We'll have to make a trip to them ASAP when things loosen up. Support local stores.

Since my post the other day I've had a two day event for this Thursday and Friday cancel. It was school related and the schools are closed. For now they are going to try again toward the end of April, but I don't think this will be over by then. Also had tonight's event call and cancel tonight and next Monday night. That group is made up of mostly school age kids, and he figured there wouldn't be enough show up to make it worth his time.

One of my board members called tonight to ask what I thought of shutting down to the public, but keeping office staff and cleaning crew going. My job is completely customer dependent, so that would cut most of my hours. But I told him to go ahead if he thought it was needed.

Yes, I love that store. I try to visit it whenever I'm in Portland, which was around 10 years ago now.

getting murder in stocks now,.Did make a few changes that will make a big difference that would have been a lost. If you guys can, I would suggest one that is a cheap buy in Alpha Pro Tech(APT). They produce face mask for the public N-95. I usually don't fuck with pharma stock but wife keep telling me about Moderna Inc. (MRNA) so I'm taking a chance on this to be a winner as well

Shelter in place just hit my county. Guess I'm stuck here with you guys for a few weeks..

Man 3 weeks, thats going to be rough. Just a couple days after trump said to stop buying so much.... I typically find its best to do the opposite of what the government says!

Yeah, luckily for me my employer said they will pay me for those three weeks. I'm also pretty stocked up as far as food. Many people aren't so lucky, and this will really hit our community hard.

My news is changing daily. After tonight's event we are closed until the 1st of May, when we will reevaluate. There are two events in April that we will allow if they chose to go ahead. So other than coming in for a couple three hours once a week to tend the lobby plants, those two events are going to be it for me. Lots of time to work on the river house now.

Yeah, things changing fast. I still have some events hopeful for April too, but not holding me breath.

Also a guy who's employed by a major AV company in the area (a subsidiary of Shepard AV) just posted this on FB. Not surprised but sad..

I feel so blessed to see this subject line in an email from my boss today: "All will remain in paid status through this crisis"
