how much time left?

Hi all. This is my first grow, I have a journal going, but am hoping for some quick answers here if possible.
I have been flowering since Oct. 11. Almost 8 wks. This is bagseed, no idea what strain. I use about 8 26W 2700K cfl's and 1 26W 6500K cfl. My temps are good, 70 to 80's, humidity is a bit low, never tops 39% or so. I am in soil, FF OF. I am nuting, FF BB.
Knowing that, and looking at the pics, these are from tonight, any idea on how many weeks left till I should harvest? I know about the trichs thing, they are starting to turn milky, some of them. Others are all clear. But how do I know when to stop nutes, so it can flush before harvest? Here are pics:

Also, is it ok to pull of a small nug at this time, to test it? Or is it still too early yet?

Wiseguy316, so at this point, she is pretty "mature"? And I am just waiting for the trichs to turn the color percent that I want? Are the buds supposed to get bigger in the last few weeks?

nice pics. Looks like a Hermi plant. Beautiful but looks hermi. Id say let them go for another couple of weeks like wiseguy suggested. They should look stiff and heavy and the nugs should look firm and dank.

they will swell in the last 2 weeks. no sense pulling a nug still need to let it dry,, just be patient. your almost there

where do you come up with hermie? I don't see any seeds or ball sacks in the picks.

what does this mean? you can change the high by when u cut it? please explain

If the plant is short and stocky it most likely is an Indica. If the plant is tall and thin it most likely is a Sativa. Check how some finished ready to harvest indica and sativa plants look online and compare. the longer it goes the stronger or more couch lock the high will be.

Drew4312, what it means is this: your trichomes are what give you a certain high, like a cerebral high, or a couch lock type high. If you cut the plant down when the trichs are 70% milky and 30% amber, you high will be cerebral, that energy feeding, totally active type stone. If you cut when it the opposite, 70% amber, 30% milky, it will that, oh dude I'm so baked I don't want to move feeling. I am going to hopefully cut mine at 50/50. So I get a bit of both. I use mine for medicine as well as recreation, so I want some of those amber trichs, for the body high. But I love the speedy fast energy busting take a hike or go ridge running type of high the best. So I want them trichs to still be pretty clear/amber as well. Trichs start out clear, I should have said that. They look like little mushrooms. HAHA, Ain't that just a joke of nature. roflmao. Has anyone ever thought that? It's natures joke. We like shrooms to get high on, and cannabis has shrooms on it, and they are what get us high LOL> Oh my that';s fucking great! lol. So yes, trich color determines when you cut, and that depends on what kind of stone you want. Does that help? There is a great thread on trichs, just do a google search for trichome gude.

Looks further away than 2 weeks, don't really see any swelling at all, and not too many trichs. Also don't see signs of herm, unless I am blind?

Purplekrunchie, that's what I am thinking, but I have no idea lol. Look at the pic I just posted, above your post. What is that in the black box? Is that a calyx starting to swell? Or is it just growing normally? Or is it a calyx? What is it??? lol. I'm dying to know!! Seriously!

It's flowers (calyxes) forming. They will never really stop, you have to balance harvest with when most of the flowers have ripened. There will always be some newer flowers that can't ripen, because the older ones will go too long.

id give her another month, all the pistals are fresh and really no buds at all, u will know its ready when the pistals start to die back and she starts swelling. Be patient man youve gone this far

Hey Purple and Gee! Thanks for the replies!! Ok, I was seriously thinking the same things. I didn't know if it was a calyx or not, but I figured that was all it could be. But I wasn't sure, and I do like definite answers lol. Gee, I was hoping someone would say that lol. I really don't want to cut her down lol. I've grown quite attached to her, she is my room mate lol. Yes, I have had pistles for about 3 wks or a bit more now. They turned colors fast. They began white but quickly went red/purple color, in no time at all. I thought that was a sign of maturity, so when the trichs starting forming, I thought, oh crap, it's almost harvest time! I'm not ready! lol. I know most folks want to chop it down asap, I don't lol. I like growing it. It's fucking awesome beyond measure. Totally completely awesome. I wish I could have a job at a care center or dispensary. I want to grow them for a living. But I can't where I live. Hey, if anyone knows any folks that own a business and need an extra hand, even part time, I will relocate!!! I'm totally serious. I hate who I work for. I thought it would be cool, gubberment job and all, but it's not. I hate the politics. I don't agree with most of the gubberment, yet I work for them. Talk about an attack of morals and conscience.
Anyhoo. when I look at my Estella, and then look at buds of other grower's, mine looks like it's just starting to grow buds. It's mostly pistles, isn't it?

The strains genetics will determain your high. Indicia is a couch lock, sativa is your uplift.

Every calyx has 2 pistols, that is the makeup of each flower.

Ok, so the calyx swelling is what we generally would call the bud? And the hairs we see on dried bud is the pistles. Right?
