How much to start growing..

im going to be growing 2 plants, in a closet area.
im looking to get away with the cheapest possible route, but still to grow some satisfying ganja.
how much am i looking at spending? and can i get everything minus seeds at local stores? i.e home depot, wal-mart etc.
and i would like to buy seeds off the internet, living in the U.S makes it sketch, are the sites under seed tab legit?

Yes lights dirt everything from home depot.
Yes seed tabs on this site is legit.Do some research on google and type in companies that ship to u.s.
Attitude is what alot of people choose because of the variety and stock.

can someone make a shopping list? haha i know it sounds funny, but im re-doing my kitchen so was gonna grab the stuff next time i go to home depot.
also any advice on type of seed to buy? auto-flowering or female

soil,organic if possible, 2 lightbars, 8 y splitters, 8 outlet to socket plugs, 8 26w 2700k cfl, 8 26w 6500k cfl, A way to test ph, nutes-high n and low pk for veg and low n and high pk for flower, desktop fan, some way to hook the lightbars to the celining, 2 1 gallon pots and 2 3 gallon pots along with a few dixie cups to start them in, Not the clear ones though, i prefer the styrofoam ones myself, they retain heat somewhat and thats really important when it comes to getting fast and good root growth early on and when germinating, a roll of mylar and tape to hang it with or a can of flat dull white paint, a way to tell your temps, some type of inline fan to exhaust air up into the attic, im sure there are a few things i forgot but off the top of my head their you go

you don't need all that... you need a seed starter kit, and some peat starter plugs, plus soil. you want to go feminized because sexing is a bitch, and takes at least a month plus it sounds like you don't have the space for that. once the plants sprout, and have two leaf sets, put in solo cups. once they are established, move those into 1 to 5 gallon containers, depending on your space. you need 6 y-splitters - not 8 - and only 2 lamp cords. i would get the clamp lamps they sell at hardware stores. attach the y-splitters to each light socket, and two y-splitters to those splitters, so you can put 4 bulbs on each one. hang these 4-bulb "claws", one over each plant, and you should get some decent herb =) just use 23-30 watt bulbs. you will also need nutes - $18 for Fox Farms Grow Big, $20 for Tiger Bloom, and they have worked well for me. you don't really NEED temperature gauges, or ph testing kits... i have a ph probe thingy, but with soil i barely use it. just DON'T over fertilize... this can easily kill your plant. use 1/4 of what they recommend, until they can handle more, and water with ONLY purified water every other watering. if you think your plant is burned, flush immediately with water only. yeah and that is all you need... probably will cost you a hundred bucks for everything, for two plants, not including seeds.

Even that sounds like alot.Just get a 150 hps way better than cfls,soil and pots.Thats all you need to grow pot.

it all depends on what you want your end result to be, your level of building and DIY skill and what kind of time you have to invest. setting up a grow can cost between $100-$10,000+

Ok so we all remember back when we were just starting to grow. We were looking for a fairly easy way to grow some plants for little money. I learned very quickly that if you don't invest a little money you aren't going to get anything in return. I have come to find out that there are endless amounts of new growers with this age of medical marijuana.
The things i always hear are, where can i get cheap lights, where can i get cheap soil, how can i do this as cheap as possible. Well the answer is that you need to not half ass everything or you will waste the measly 20 bux you put into you ghetto ass grow. It is important to remember that when it comes to horticulture more $ = better quality.
So as to put an end to this phenomenon i would like you all to save up 500$ before you even attempt to grow a plant. The first thing you will need is some stable genetics. This is easily procured by going to your local club and picking up some clones, they range from 5 dollars or if you go to the wrong place you may end up spending 20 per clone. You also have the option of purchasing some seeds online all though i do not think this is the best option because there is the possibility of customs taking your items ( if you live in the states ), also you never really know with breeders packs if you are getting what you pay for genetics wise. The other issue i have with this is that some of the strains have been stored in a less than optimal environment and half the seeds i have purchased have been unable to germinate due to no fault of my own.
The second thing you need is a space to grow your plant, if you are some 16 year old with the bright idea that you are going to grow a plant in a cardboard box, i have news for you, you are wasting your time. Your growing environment must be clean and have enough room to finnish the flowering process.
Third the thing i see most often is people not wanting to pay big bux for soil. If you are planning on hydro this paragraph isn't for you. If you want to go down to walmart and buy a 3 dollar bag of MG and burn you plants because its 20-25-20 be my guest. You need to buy yourself a quality soil such as fox farm or any other organic 20-10-10 soil like humboldt flower products. There is always the option and it is the best option to mix your own soil but unless you truly know what you are doing i do not think it is the best option for you.
The last subject i would like to touch on is lighting. If you are planning on just growing outdoors this paragraph does not pertain to you. There are so many different options for lighting these days it is often hard to make a solid decision. First i would like to say that cfl's WILL WORK butt it would be my last choice if you are serious about growing, so we aren't even going to discuss cfl's because im not a total looser. HID lighting is your best option you will get high yields with resinous buds. You can buy a post 2000 hps ballast and it will work with MH bulbs as well. If you are looking for a perpetual harvest i would buy one 1000w hps ballast reflector and bulb and use this for your flowering room to start you off. I would than use some t5's for my veg room. Now i would like to take a second to talk about led lighting , ITS CRAP if you want to pay 1000 dollars for a light that is only good for something that won't give you the results of a 250 1000w you can do so but you are an idiot. LED lighting wont be around for more than another 5 years because it is impractical and growers don't mind having to deal with cooling and electric bills because HID is cheap and produces the results we are looking for. LED fuck off and die.
So it has come to the end and i am not going to look back though to look for typos. I hope you enjoyed the read, but most importantly i hope this will put a stop to all the little walmart grows that people keep wasting time on. Have a great today and tomorrow, DNK

Seriously i use mg soil and i can show you beautys.SO i dont know why you are talking bad about.In fact ive seen grows for under 100 dollars come out succesful.So dont put your foot in your mouth about this please.Info is good but not very accurate.Try again.

of course you CAN use MG and get good results but they won't be the BEST so before you say my information is inaccurate think again and also of course you CAN spend 100 dollars on a grow but what you won't get is TOP QUALITY consistently. If you are using MG you are putting your own foot in your mouth because you have no right to tell me ANYTHING about growing. - you seemed to jump on an angry level of rebuttal instead of happily stating what you find false about my statement you got all hostile you are a grade a mg jerk

yeild and quality is great for my liking and everybody around loves it.So really what was your post about how to grow bud right?So you say i grow wrong am i right?My setup is not 500 and everything you say not to use i use and have no problems.So really what was your post about then?????
