How much water for seeds in coco solo cup?

Hi, I have a cbd seed in a solo cup filled with 70% coco 30% perlite. I was just wondering how often I should be giving water and how much?

Usually I water everyday. You don’t want the coco to dry out, but you don’t want it saturated either. Is the seed a photo or auto? Did you germinate?

You shouldn't be giving water, you should be giving feed....

I run coco and use Solo's to start my seeds: For the first few days, I will feed every other day...within a week, I am feeding once a day, every day. In comparison, I am in Solo's now, the plants are @ 3 weeks since germination, and I am feeding 3 times per day, under 16 hours of light.

As to how much...just enough to get a little run off out of the pot (this amount will change as the plant grows). Good luck.

I feed (not plain water) once per day to run off starting from sprout and twice a day in flower.
It's impossible to over water a 70/30 coco/perlite mix.
It's drain to waste hydroponics.
Good luck.

Figured feeding is what he meant when he said watering since he’s growing in coco.

Yes very much what I meant, not used to the lingo
Also the plant has just popped out and I read that just pH’d water for the first weak as nutrients may burn the roots and to flush with water every other feed once started. Is this correct?

I'm not sure where you're reading that, but you've been given the correct advice in this thread.
No. Never give plain water in coco.
Feed 1/4 strength nutes daily starting now......it will not burn the roots. Never heard of that before.

These plants are 21 days from sprout and they have been fed daily to run off.

Thanks for the info, this is where I heard it, roughly 3 mins in
What are you feeding with when they first sprout? Thanks

I would compare my 2 week old plants to this guy's anytime.
2 weeks from sprout......this is typical growth at 2 weeks for me.

I use GH MaxiBloom from start to finish.......I start with 1/8 teaspoon per gallon for the first week and increase to 1/4 strength after a week.......always to run off.

Man, why does everyone make it complicated? It's Fucking the simplest part of growing.

Plants roots GROW when they search for water... So if your shit is wet and heavy all the time... Guess what... Roots grow slow.

I've always started seeds in a wet paper towel or brown cheap paper towel from a random bathroom. Gallon bag, soak with water, put in your drawer, boom.. Give it 5 days, they'll be an inch long. Plant.

Water until you get about a quarter of what you put in..out. Feel the weight? Now you know what it feels like when it's soaked.
Now feel one that is dry.. Or just planted with no water...
Don't water again until it feels like that.

Sometimes if I've been over watering, I'll just wait until they wilt.. Than hit them.
Once you learn the weight thing, you'll just be able to pick up your plants and know by weight if they need water.

Now a great experiment to learn some shit is... Take two seeds... Over the first 3 weeks of veg(Mine can stay in solo cups for 3 weeks on 24 hour veg before they get rootbound), but you have to water everyday towards the end. And that's if you have ocean Forest soil, it'll keep for about 3 weeks until the seedling sucks the nutrients dry.
Water the fuck out of one, the other water only when bone dry and starts to wilt.

Week 3
Cut cups open
Look at roots

Watered one will be very little, small growth.. Yellow roots

Drier one, roots will fill WHOLE cup from searching, healthy white roots.

Hope it helps.

This is great advice if the OP were growing in soil.....but he's growing in coco.
Coco is hydroponics......it should never dry out and it should be fed daily.
The key to root growth and health is oxygen.

These are roots from a 2 week old plant that was fed every day to run off......they didn't have any trouble growing when saturated.

I see you've been feeding them reduced fat milk. No wonder that looks so healthy. Great root growth.

I bet you didn't start them in those big pots watering once per day to run off though mick.
