I have kind of the same set up as you do. I water enough for the water to drip from the bottom of the pot.The plants will let you know if they are getting too much or not enough.I water quarter to half gallons at a time,I am working with a tent so drainage, humidity and making a mess is an issue for me till I can afford a flood table.

similar set up too... I also only water once a week, but that seems to be ok for now.

just a suggestion, try to pick up your pots when you water them, just to get a feel when their full. then check them periodically througout the week, the pots that need water will feel exremely light, after a while you will be able to tell if they need water, it just takes a little practice... good luck

That's just about the right amount of water. I use the same sized pots, and every 3-4 days,(depending on temps, plant size, etc....) they each get a whole 2-liter bottle or water, with little, if any, runoff.

I think you're supposed to water when it's dry. Some people do a feed cycle where they feed every other day and give a good water once a week but if you feel the top and it is dry, you need to water regardless. If you have a moisture meter, you're way ahead of me. In the case of plants, I think a little dry is better than a little wet.
