How much would you pay? THC testing.

I was looking into getting real test done on my buds. Been told some labs out here do it for 300-600 a test. But nobody can tell me where to go. So me and a friend where thinking of getting the system and certed to use it. This fucker is expensive. We where thinking of doing $400 for true thc, cbd, and cbn content. And $500 for the addition pesticides( to prove your not doing it with toxic chemicals. And $600 for all that and prove full organic lines. We would offer the service to growers and dispenceries. Right now I'm just testing the waters to see if this is a good price? If not it will take about 2 years to make our money back.
So my question is if you know your grow is over the 13-17% THC they say would you pay that price to prove it and get a better price? Or what price would you pay?

you gotta start somewhere i guess. if you charge less than the other guys, you should be able to get more business, making more through volume...

i never understood the testing either, and i always lol when i read people on here and other forums and places saying this bud has this percentage of thc and that bud has this much thc...
at the end of the day, i could really care less what percent thc the bud i'm smoking has so long as it gets me high, i could care less if some lab says it has 1% or 30% honestly...
and when you read descriptions on seed banks saying the percentage of thc i always lol again wondering where they're getting this info, and how they're going to actually prove to me that they simply didn't make up these numbers like i think that 90% of the breeders who post such numbers do.. :)
just my $.02 though...

IMHO: In time the Cannabis community will come to realise the thc% is a crude way of describing the effects on ones body and mind. THC has many constituant compounds and the subtle differences between these are what gives a particular strain its different nuances and highs and medical benefits.

I'm not telling you to go for it or not. But I reckon its more about marketing the stuff than providing any real information on the bud.

Yes but if you know the thc cbd and levels that works for you you can look for different strains with similar property's. Knowing same effect but different taste.

Thats assuming every bud from every plant has been tested, (surely THC levels change throughout the plant). Also that they have been tested at the same facility with same procedure and equipment. hmmmm

EDIT: What you said above is the marketing spiel I was thinking of. LOL. its good though, keep telling them that.

Surely the whole notion of being "certified" goes against the whole ethos of cannabis being a plant for ALL. Im ignorant of the American medical grow system but is this not another level of un-necessary regulation brought in to line the pocket of someone you'll never meet.? I dunno

Nope. I grow but don't smoke. I use the CBD's in butter and tinctures. But I have med patients I grow for. Been thinking about testing for awhile. And if we are to get it legal we will need a way to test purity and quality to a FDA standard. So why not help start one. And a few other grow ops around me agree.

Testing tinctures, butters and other homogenous products is no problem. Bud is completely different, since usually top bud is better than bottom bud and one plant is different than another.

imo, if you smoked the bud that you grew there would be no need to test it as your body and mind would be the ones telling you whether the bud that you just grew was fire of just some average bud and not some numbers coming from a lab.. :)
