It sounds like you have a secure setup. Remember don't sell, don't smell and don't tell. Cops will bust any grow that they hear about. As long as nobody knows, you should be able to grow for many years without any legal issues. Good luck and stay safe.

I was all paranoid when i started my first grow and it only had 55W of CFLs, like the others mentioned above DONT TELL ANY ONE, keep your smell under control and avoid the drug dealer foot traffic and your set..

Yup, you already fucked up and broke rule number one if ANYBODY knows. You are 25% more likely to get busted for every person that knows about your grow. So, if 4 people know about your grow, there is a 100% chance you will get busted.

yea man its not safe if any one knows. Example my neigbor found out about my out door and with in 3 months i had cops at my door though it was legall it was a hassel. no matter how awesome my grow is. ill never tell never show and never smell. I'd rather be a sexret grow than a bused grower anyday.

cops will deffintly raid your house if they have a tip or any kind of evidence so becareful and dont tell anyone cause the more ppl who knows and do drugs then the more likely they will snitch you out if they get pinched by the bacon sqaud.
Buddy of mine, had another buddy that was growing... he told/showed a shit load of people his grow.. He got pulled over on a traffic stop and they confronted him, he gave the address of my buddy and he was raided. He had no plants, but had tear gas/flash bangs thrown through his window. He is now sueing the local pd, but will probably lose b/c they had probable cause.
The guy that actually had the plants, had time to go to his home and destroy everything before being caught.

How often do they bust closet grows? As often as knowledge and resources will allow.
How often do they detect closet grows? Would be impossible to say because, after all, there hidden.
Of the closet grows that do get busted, what are the common threads? Good question!!!
Lets assume your a hermit and have no one to tell about your garden or sell to even if you wanted. Lets assume you have taken steps to eliminate odor, disperse heat, muffle sound, and properly dispose of trash. Lets assume a closet grow doesn't use over 1000wts. What does that leave? Random emergencies like fire, water pipe bursting, ect. Being followed home from the grow store. Anything else?
My mentor claimed the 12/12 pattern can be detected (back in the 90's) and with the new smart grids that seems a possibility, however in all the cases Ive read involving electric use leading to a bust, they have always sighted the amount used and not any sort of pattern.
I think that small closet grows are likely to escape the attention of feds, and tend to be busted by local/state ops. In which case, do they have the resources to go fishing for minnows?
Can anyone offer more than speculation?

thats about right cops arnt going to go looking for small ops like that even with power concerns. but if the cops are tipped off by an informant then they will bust you for sure because they know it could lead to something bigger and better for them in there career so yeah. think about it if your traped in a room "grow op" with a attack dog "cops" would you either tip toe around him or stomp your feet around him.
