How quickly do the trichomes change from cloudy to amber?

Just wanted to know for my first harvest... took some more macro crystal shots and I'm seeing a couple amber for the first time. I'm at like exactly 8 weeks, this strain is suggested harvest 7-8. How fast does it progress from here usually? What percentage of amber do you guys prefer?

NEVER LET IT GO PASS 80%. like fruit it over ripens (which means THC goes down). some strains never get amber trichomes so totally up to you. i personally would give them about 9 more days and i like to let it go to the max well beyond 8 weeks sometimes but the plant tells me when she is done. This being ur first time you dont know what to expect next time you know what exactly to expect and what not to expect. great job no matter what it is going to be beautiful

Like he said some may never turn amber.I have had some that was more superb when amber and had to harvest the group in layers tops 1st then the mids. Some plants may even be finished early as 6 weeks of flower every grow is different.

great advice. They really are looking and smelling pretty amazing. Seems like they are still fattening up, so I think another week at least. and earlier today I was convinced I'd harvest tomorrow :)

I dont go by color at all. I go by caps. If they are all capped thats all she's got usually. look at your pic again, just a few still missing.

Hey all I know old post but wanted to ask some questions since the NEW FIRST TIMER IS NOW 13 years into growing.. haha

the pictures you took DID YOU trim that first picture bud it looks like it’s had a pre harvest trim? Also I ask as I am at 7-8 weeks now with a Bag Seed Getting 1/8 ambers and I hear it’s almost best to get it when 70% are CLOUDY WHITE. With whatever % if amber. 0-30% but some say go to 80% ambers.. that’s a Indacouch or Satindachair forsure…XD

thanks did you cut the leaves off the first image or main bud like when pre harvesting and trimming up if done in the plant ? How was it and how many years do you still grow?? I STARTED this I mean last year IM LIKE 5 MONTHS LATE LOL STARTED MIDDE DECEMBER IN Australia and finishing now start of winter lol I GOT SO LUCKY the sun has been out and yeah I got smaller harvest than most topped potted plants that go full season but I also tipped to rush and make flower faster also shaded in Arvos after 4pm EVERY DAY IF ITS FOWERING life for extra less light. But yeah. Got 3-4 Oz of the First Lady the other week so this one will be interesting as it has more leaf and left more leaf on for the photosynth etc
