How safe is it to show pics?

I'm with ya on that one bro. There's a lot more pressing issues in the world today than my 4x4 tent full of sticky goodness lol. Actually now that I think of it, it shouldn't be an issue (period).
 
I'd say RIU is safer than say, youtube or facebook. If the authorities want to build a case against you, pics you posted on RIU isn't going to help them much. I could post a picture of anything, doesn't mine I did it or I have it. I'd be more worried about using my pone to phost/browse. If you come into contact with auth, they could will check your phone on the spot. Pictures on there and you might have a problem. What if you lose it or it gets stolen?

Also, even if you don't post pics, be cautious. More than one person has been ratted on by a computer tech when they had their computers worked on. Esp. if you drop it off somewhere and leave it. Or it gets stolen. Chances are you plants will be gone too, then.

This (and much more) has all been covered many times, but I guess it never hurts to keep safety in the forefront.

tldr; Yes, it's safe unless you fuck it up with too much information.
 
My approach is that so long as I am following my state law, and the government is claiming to leave those alone that are doing so, I should have nothing to worry about. I have a page on facebook and a video on youtube. By allowing everyone I know to know exactly what I'm doing, why I am doing it, and documenting it for them all to see.... I may be wrong, but if they should decide that I'm worth the trouble, I will fight them and use their "evidence" in my favor! Anything additional they'd like to try tacking on or throwing at me is between them and their Maker.

I'm a lot nicer than He is.

Unfortunately, some states are way behind the times, and likely to remain so. Those of us that live in those states and territories share your enthusiasm, but in a more muted way, by reason of necessity.

a program called smallImage will wipe the GPS data that smartphones record. You should always use tor and keep java off if you want to be private or untraceable. Regardless, there just isn't the budget or man power for the police to pick through IP addresses of internet posts just to track down a few plants. Still, I wouldn't post a field or anything with GPS data.
 
I've turned off my GPS on the phone, but hey, they can turn it back on whenever they want, really. Same with the pics in your phone, even if you never share them, they can still access them. Ever notice all the permissions those apps you can't live without require? And as Lo Budget mentions, if you come in contact with them, they are likely to check your phone. I keep mine encrypted, but that only offers so much protection since they have a device that can circumvent that.

I bet those fuckers at fukushima and chernobyl were high. Yeah that's it. I do know that if a nuclear plant melted down and the nrc found evidence of a positive test on a responsible employee it would end legalization lol.
 
I should clarify.... I am former worker in the nuclear field, though I did at one time work while I smoked, but only during my last temporary tour of duty. Due to silly governmental budgetary games, I have been laid off 3 times in 4 years. Is it any wonder I began looking for something more.... stable?

BINGO! The local boys can't even muster enough money to hire new officers. Why would they spend dollars and time on a few plants! Look how the Feds said to banks it's ok to work with legal/medical MJ. The banks said ,,, Ah, wait a min. It's still illegal by federal law....until that changes we say no. That may well force the hand of decriminalization and/or rescheduling!

Skype at your own risk, would be my advice. I received a similar pm, and do not intend to reply at this point. Mostly because I don't use Skype. I'm more into the Tango. But also because I don't personally know this person and I do still have at least some sense caution. Perhaps when I've had more time to see this persons other posts and decide for myself where they are coming from, I'll take them up on the offer!
