How should manage the light during the seedling and vegetative stage (led)

Hello,

I'd to ask you, how i should manage de light during the seedling and vegetative stage.

Because i have a HLG 650R(600w led) with dimmer and i don't wanna burn the plants with too much light.
1/4 power during de seedling and add 1/4 every week till the flo ?

Could you advise me about that ?

It's distance as well as amount dimmed. The best thing to do is to get a PAR (or LUX if it works with your light; they don't work with all LED lights but are cheaper) meter and use that to set your light, rather than arbitrary dimming.

My LED light works with a LUX meter so I use that, but here's a comparison of what I do, without stretching or any light burn:
  • Seedling
    • T5 Florescent, 4 foot, 4 bulb: 13,500 LUX (approx 200 umol/s/m2)
    • ~2 weeks
  • Veg
    • Mars Hydro TS3000:
      • Start off at 13,500 LUX @ 20" from plants (dimmer knob)
      • Increase LUX by 10k daily until at 50k (approx 850-900 umol/s/m2) by dimmer only
    • <1 week to full light, then 3+ weeks (depending on training, etc.)
  • Flower
    • Mars Hydro TS3000: 60k LUX @ 20" (approx 1k umol/s/m2)
    • For only a 1k LUX jump, I don't transition, just jump in, then use light height, only, from that point
Hope that helps! Using a meter, for me, really made the difference between guessing & trying to measuring & adjusting.
