How slow/small is deep purple when grown correctly?

I cracked some DP seeds about 5 weeks ago. At he same time i started rooting a couple clones from a WW/diesel. In 5 weeks my clones have grown into huge healthy bushes, and have started 12/12. In the same 5 weeks my DP sprouts grew about 5" high, with one male getting 10" high. The male seemed healthy, but the 2 fems have twisted weird leaves from the get go. Plants are growing in hydro, with ppm never exceeding 600, and ph around 5.6-6.

I am a newbie, and I'm stoked that my grow setup worked with my clones. I have culled all but one of the DP's and it lives in the kitchen window now.
My set up was a 400mh, and a well vented cool room.
I'm thinking about giving the DP's another shot, but I'm not sure what I'll need to change. I've got 7 more seeds left.
Oh, and if I get it right, how big can I get a DP to grow in 6 weeks of veg.

I think you may need to feed more.. I don't have a need for a PPM meter but I think if you're gonna veg for 5 weeks you should have been constantly upping the dosage. At start of veg (1st 5 blade leaf) i'm doing full recommended dosage of CNS17 grow at 4 tsp/gal, which according to the back of the label is 1.5 EC.
In one month I can get 20 inch plants from seed(which isn't very fast growth in my opinion, still dialing things in), and when I flower they're in between 3-4 feet.

As for the twisted leaves it's almost always a humidity problem, which can also lead to stunted growth.

First off, thanks unnk for kindly pointing me towards the thread below. Not sure how i missed it while searching.
Anomolies, thanks for your reply. I had 2 non-DP plants growing in a waterfarm, dwc style grow. They were loving the nute mix at 600 ppm, they were perfect specimens. That was what I was feeding my young deep purples, only they were in 1 quart hempys. From the very first set of leaves things were looking odd on 2 out of 3 DP's. My closet grow is well vented, and rather dry. It was around 25-30% most of the plants life. temps 65-75. I'm gonna give the seeds another try. My room will be ready for a new round in 7 weeks, so I'm gonna start some seeds now and veg them for a while under some cheap flouro's. I can only try 3 seeds at a time, I'm keeping it Colorado mmj compliant.
It sounds like the DP's have some weird genetics going on, and some just have birth defects. Are genetic defects common with purchased seeds? I hope I get a few normal kids out of the pack of 10.

if i may contribute gentlemen and ladies, i am on my first run of Deep Purple as well. Mine are very close to cutting. today is day 60. here are a couple pics from day 55 of some buds. plus a couple shots from earlier. I am a new grower, 10 months into it. I have been growing Jillybean the whole time and have it down pretty well. But DP is proving to be much more difficult for me. the feeding was much heavier for DP after switching to 12-12. probably because i didn't feed it early. it has lost a lot of large fan leaves the entire time i have had it. stinks like cat piss, until the flowers show up, then i detected booberry cereal, yum. got mites at end of veg, fukdeep purple small.jpgdp.jpgdp little.jpgdeep purple buds.jpg. 2 girls, one boy. 20-22 in. tall , CFL, foxfarm dirt/nutes, box grow. might yeild an oz.

Hey man. I'm doing my first run of the Deep Purple right now; in soil. I have a couple in flowering that are looking good (only 2 wks in right now). The mom's in veg are getting yellow tips on all the new groth though. I'm not sure if it's overfeeding or Mg deficiency.

Did you feed your Deep Purple at all when it was vegging? Was it a light feeder? What did you keep your pH around?

Here's some pics of the Deep Purple moms after I cut them back. The yellow tips haven't really gone away yet.

yes, it seemed to need to play catch up soon after it went into flower, so i should have fed it more in veg. I don't keep moms, so not sure what you have going on.
