how tall

i want to start growing shorter plants, 400 watt MH, master kush, 3 or 4 feet would be nice, i use a 5 gal pot for 5 or 6 foot i grow, can i use a smaler pot and maybe do 3 or 4,so the question is at what size do i start flower, got a lot of day light left here in the n east, so can do most of veg out side and save some watts

Start to flower at a foot. Or less even. Its all in how much those strains stretch when they get flipped to flower. Some plants will go three feet 12/12 from seed, and some will go one foot. The genetics will define when you want to flip so some testing is probably in order. I had a shishkaberry frankenpheno go four feet with 14 days from clone so crazy things can happen, thats why you have to play around.
Smaller pots will make smaller plants most of the time, but from what ive seen, smaller pots usually just make taller skinny plants. It is a way to keep the size down though.

as long as you water them enough my experience you can grow monsters . I have one 6 foot tall hitting the light had to fold it over and bend it if you will in a 3 gallon pot . for me I get the same from a 3 5 7 gallon pot . just depends how often I have to water . the bigger the less I have to water can skip 2 days .
