How to automate irrigation system

Hello is there anyway to easily automate irrigation system in a outdoor grow. I'm thinking some kind of jury rigged solar powered timer and or pump with a 50 gallon bucket.

I think you could get away with using way less solar power and needing a pump. If you are able to place the res higher up in a tower, that is. You would use most the energy needed for whatever system to work when you come to fill it up. They even make battery powered irrigation timers, so probably won't even need solar panels or anything to power it. Just replace with rechargeable batteries once in awhile.

Agreed with above. I'd probably use a gravity fed system. Essentially a water butt with irrigation coming out of the bottom simply attached to a drip feeder.

They give you the amount they drip, for example 2ltr per hour.

I'm a big fan of hydro personally I would probably use clay pebbles if outside with a drip system.
