I have 95 cfm fan attached to can filter which blows thru my 400watt MH lite.
my intake comes from in duct fan 3 ft. outside my apt window.
My heat is 87 degrees and humidity is 29%. how to cool this room down --way too hot n dry!:?:

There's a couple options:

1: I'm assuming you meant 3 feet by 3 feet, not 3 feet by 3 inches of course
2: Open a door, let cool air blow in. (Free!)
3: Redirect some more A/C from the house through the duct work. (Run another line, $25 total cost!)
4: Take 10 gallons of water, and place it in front of your fan. It'll lower the temperature by about 5 degrees. Then again, you have a very small space not sure how this could be accomplished. Warning: Doing this INCREASES humidity, which for you, isnt a bad thing. No more than 60% humidity for ya.
5: Get a better 95cfm fan, perhaps a 200cfm-ish will do the trick.

Good luck!

1. what is the temp of air you are sucking into the room? you won't get much better than five degrees hotter than entry temp no matter what you do.
2. you need something in the range of 3 to 5 room exchanges of air per minute to cool a room. you've got barely more than one room exchange per minute with the fan you have. depth x width x heigh divided by 95cfm = number of room exchanges per minute.

thanks Deserat
The temp outside that's being sucked in is 75 degrees. The reason I picked 95 cfm is I was told multiply the width x length x depth which is 72 cubic feet so greater than72 cfm supposedly would be ok.
I paid $128 for the can fan & filter so its not a huge loss but the new fan will cost me. Worth it ifb that temp can drop tpo mid 70s. I did notice when the temp is down the humidity is up --sorry for my inexperience. If I'm understanding u correctly, a 280 cfm fan would give me approx. 4 exchanges per min. is that ok?
