How to deal with transplant shock????

I bought some clones from a local shop. They were not the healthiest when I got them and once I got home I realized they were root bound in the solo cup. I grow DWC and had to remove them from the dirt and replant which caused some transplant stress.

I'm 5 days in and new growth seems to be coming back even though the larger leaves have gone down hill since the transplant. The roots have not poked through the net pot yet, but I can see them through the basket. My solution has been kept at a PH of 5.9 and a ppm of 410. I just upped the ppm to about 525. I have been doing a foliar spray of Ph'd water and rhizotonic 3 times a day. The lights have been at 30% but I just increased them to 50% now that I see some of the new growth perking back up.

I'm a new grower and haven't experienced this before, anything I'm doing wrong? Could I be doing anything better?

would prob go back to 30% or even lower seeing this.

that light can be powerfull.
i bet the roots arent looking well either?
hoping there isnt root rot going on allready, would prob need some treatment then.

i would stay low with the light intensity till she really perked up and showing healthy roots.
you wont need high ppm also, stay on the low side for now.
i gave up on DWC, but your pictures reminded me of what i had too, it can be a bit tricky to get them going after a transplant.

The roots seem to be doing alright since they aren't in the water yet, but it's hard to tell since I can only see a small portion of them. I filled to just below the net pot and am blasting them with a couple air stones each. Only the bottom inch or so of the hydroton has moisture on them. I quit with the top drip as soon as I noticed the roots on the side of the net pot for fear of overwatering/root rot. I also have a water chiller that holds my solution at about 68.

I had great luck with DWC when I get clippings and root them myself, but this is my first time trying to transplant an older clone from dirt and I'm definitely learning alot, I will say that. Thanks for the tips tho, I will drop the lights back to 30% for now and keep my ppms at 500 or lower (my tap water is about 110) until it either comes back, or dies off. I have been feeding 25% strength nutes with my rhizotonic at about 50% strength to try and stabilize the roots.

thats good if the roots are still good.
i encountered theyre very sensitive at this stage and tend to get infected easily.
good idea to stop the top watering as theyre prob in some root plugs which shouldnt stay too moist atm as theyre not drinking much anyway.
sounds like you cant do more for now, just dont blast them and let them recover.
took a bit till i found my sweetspot for the light too.

you can even try 20% for a day or such and see if thats an improvement, sometimes there is a fine line, f.e. 80W can mean sick plants for me and 60W healthy plants in veg, just an example.

i never had luck with root boosters in dwc as theyre often mostly organic, but just made a few runs DWC and never used your product, you prob know your stuff.

After a few days these girls have finally shot some roots out of the net pot and are doing way better! I think I may be in the clear. Thanks for the help, it was touch and go there for a minute.

Just takes patience.. you did everything perfectly. (I would have skipped the spray but that's me)... When cleaning the roots to go in DWC from soil i use a plastic tub and gently massage them under a running tap.. have never had one get stressed out like that though.

P.S. i would be chopping those down to the first node and training the hell out of them.. i am usually in flower by the time they get to that size (the stretch really fills my tents fast) and nice to have 8-12 big colas instead of 1 or 2

Next time use the cutting as a mother and transplant it into more dirt... veg it and then take cuts for your dwc.

I would say you are underfeeding... but who knows.... its full blown environment shock.... murder if you like
