"How to Die in Oregon"

I just finished writing a paper for this documentary, and if you haven't seen it and you have a full week to be depressed I suggest you see it. I supported someone's right to end their life before seeing it, but it is an interesting take on the subject.

Has anyone else here seen it? And if so, what was your take on physician assisted suicide?

I have already told the wife that I don't want life support, and if I'm in pain and/or brain dead and going to die anyway....help me die fast.

If Im not in pain or brain dead, I'll hang around til the ticker stops.

I just don't get why someone would stand in the way of someone suffering, and tell them they had to stick around and feel every ounce of pain until they died of natural causes...while hooked up to millions of dollars of machines. It's all bullshit and a money game if you ask me.

Fuck, I put a horse down this spring just because it was suffering, bullet to the head and I felt good about it afterwards because I knew it wasn't hurting anymore. Was a damn good horse, too.

This is a very good documentary! After seeing it, I had more reasons to back physician assisted suicide.

On a side note, I wrote my senior research paper on it.:leaf:

Could Obamacare require euthanasia of senior citizens if the costs of caring for the elderly grow too high? A petitioner gathers signatures in San Diego.

If Britain’s socialist healthcare system is a benchmark for what we can expect from Obamacare, hundreds of thousands of elderly patients face being euthanized through “assisted death” techniques designed to cut costs.

It is a great movie and another one I recommend (although it is different) is called "The Bridge". It is about people jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge.

wait a minute...

doesnt oregon already have a physician assisted suicide law, and another law protecting the Right To Die?

are you arguing that terminal patients should be forced to cling to life despite their own rational logical preference to go out cleanly and with dignity?

i guess it's true. eventually lefties will turn and attack ANY right as soon as there's a weakness in public opinion which they can exploit.

...of course they did. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

That's exactly the opposite of what I'm arguing Keynes. In fact, I wasn't even arguing come to think of it.

The law is what the documentary follows.
