how to get the smell down

I am trying to get the smell from my exiting ducts down. Im using high cfm fans and i exit the air outside of a window. My problem is pretty soon that air blowing out of that window is going to wreak. I do have two carbon filters that i keep in the room but they dont make it completely smell proof. so i was wondering if maybe they make some sort of carbon filter that fits into a six inch duct. So the stinky air in the exiting duct will make it halfway threw the duct until it hits a carbon filter and then the clean air will flow out of the window leaving my neighborhood free of the crucial smell of buds. if anyone else has any good ideas let me know. I have had trouble finding a carbon filter made for the inside of a duct but i am sure there is something out there.
any advice?

thanks guys!

So the smell is from the inside of your ducts? Or is your filter system not strong enough for the number of plants you are growing?

They do have in-line ozone generators, though I've never used one. I had problems with my exhaust smell till I took duct tape to the light hoods that were supposedly 'completely sealed'.
Good luck man

i have enough fanage to accommodate the number of plants im growing, but heres the situation, im exhausting the air from inside of the grow to outside of my window. so all the smell in the grow room travels through the exhaust duct and straight out the window into my neighborhood.
ill check out the in-line ozones.

they need to invent an inline carbon filter that doesn't add resistance to air flow. that would be prime.

You can go get the round air fresheners and put them right before, maybe a foot, inside the window inside the exaust tube and that should take care of it. They are cheap at dollar store ten for ten dollars but change them out a lot because they dry up in two or three days. Dont be afraid and put three in there in sequence. Dont buy flowery crap get like pine or forest or something natural.

my carbon filters work just fine. i a 3x3 grow box inside of a 12x12 bedroom. i keep the carbon filters in the bedroom so the bedroom doesnt stink. the grow box always somewhat stinks but it doesnt wreak. and i have a duct connected exiting out the window from my grow box, so the air that it sucks out of the grow box goes out of the window. this creates the outside stank.
i dont have room to put a carbon filter inside my grow box or else i gladly would. then i wouldnt have this problem

that would probably work, i was thinking about taking thin carbon pads and stuffing them inside of the stuck, but not so much that it resist air flow. then the air would go through the carbon pads and come out clean on the other end

Carbon filtration can only remove so much, there comes a point of saturation. Humidity is also a factor for failure, somewhere around 50-60% and it cannot filter anymore.

Ozone is the only sure cure. There are a few diffeent inline designs from 6" to 12" Something like this AirTiger 3 its a 10"

There is a bulb that should be replaced yearly. Smells like a strong swimming pool smell when new.

lavender is good for masking the smell of the bud , it has something to do wae chemical make up of the smell but the best i have came across was lavender oil , but i suppose the plant themselves would be as good ....(at the least its something to think about using!!!! good luck wae it all)

Why are you venting straight outside? Is is too warm to vent into your room?

If your grow isn't in a room you use then I would vent from the grow room to a room..then to outside.

You can buy that gel stuff too. Ona Gel or something? So you could put that in the room to help dampen down the smell a bit more before it goes out the windows...

so your air from the grow box is goin straight out no filter or what? if so you should have the filter in the box with enough pull no smell will leak out cause air will be getting sucked in to the grow and out through the filter you don't want that smell getting out unless your legal even if you are it will atract theives

A cheap remedy are those plug-in air freshners. They are designed to have air blown through them and are effective at 'masking' any post-CF smells.

Simply place one inside ducting.

i want it out the window because i have a roomate who actually gets bothered by the smell. The room my box is in is a room i use on a regular basis and if i exhaust into the room then whats the point, i would only be sucking the air out of a box and putting it rite back in the room the box is in. If I exhaust the air out of the window then the hot air no longer exist anywhere.
i was just trying to think of some sort of filter that i can actually put inside of some ducting so the exiting air would pass through that filter and be clean when it exits outside the window

That is one of the best ideas I have heard yet. It would work perfectly. I would be blowing fresh ocean smell out the window instead of fresh pot.
Thank you!

Very true, I have had thieves before and it is not fun.
Ill get a filter to fit inside of my grow box along with some fresheners or something along those lines. Honestly it doesn't wreak that bad but my goal is for it to not wreak what so ever.

That's what i'm gonna do, get some circular air fresheners and stick them right inside the fan i have blowing out the window. The smell will be gone after that. I only have to worry about it problem in the summer and when im budding, no other time. but thank you
