I have a lot of Florida bug experience. Damn bugs. I use tobacco spray for veg and preflower to kill the mites then hit 'em with BT as soon as the moths show up. That should work but you'll notice that some strains are resistant and just didn't get any bugs, maybe some rot from a worm or something.
Growing in the woods, animals are a bigger problem than bugs. Watch out for deer, rabbits, squirrels, and if your bud is seeded - birds will land on a bud with their filthy bird feet and peck their nasty beak into the bud to get the seeds. Use human hair if you can't build a structure.

Neem oil is what I used in Florida, but only after a problem occurred. If you must use it, make sure to apply a second application.

Also, pay close attention to where you place your hands while working in the woods...brown recluse spiders are hard to see and hurt like hell.

Good Luck!

Here's a bit more info, don't start in-ground plants at this time unless you intend on vegging for a year.

im not gonna be in a entirely woodsy place... like its just a woodsy lot or a tall field with trees on the border and its surrounded by city....vegging for a year wouldnt that be a damn tall plant?

i have no idea how big it would be if you started vegging now, but yeah man i sure mostly all outdoor plants with good sun will grow 5 foot easily. as long as the roots can stretch the fuck out.

What i found that works the best to keep the bugs and bunnies away down here in florida is to drape the plant in a mosquito net and tie it off at the bottom.

dang that sucks, so you apparently need them smaller? lol
yeah i live in the city and i just moved here and i dont know any other good areas and theres stray cats everywhere because a guy made a little shack for them and he feeds em i may be able to get away with 6ft but if its more than 6 feet then it towers the surrounding bushes and its a dead giveaway

*shrugs* idk i would think the soil would be warm enough for a while if you wanted to plant it for a few weeks at least. i use 5 gallon buckets and i had about 5 weeks to go in flowering, maybe a little longer, idk the strain, bagseed sativa so maybe longer. if we have a frost i can bring it into a covered area. i can tell you she perked right up when i put her out in the sun and fresh air :weed:
