How to identify nodes and when to flip from seedling to veg

Maybe I didn’t read it write but I meant when you top your plants it’s suggested that I should top it on the 4th node so I wanted to know how I could tell where a node is on the plant. As for the question where I ask when do I flip from seedling to veg, I wanted to know when can I change my light cycle to suit the veg stage

My point for the statement was to say, read and search everything when you are getting into something you’re not familiar with.
