I veg two plants for 4 months and they produced double the amount of bud as the plants I veg for 2mnths
how to make plant stretch?

but you talking about a small plant after 3.5 mouths.
under a good qualty light, a few t5's or mh
a large plant should only take 6 weeks to veg ( indoor plant 3ft wide in flower)
I been a perpetual grower for years and under my 250 mh plant alway got to a good size plant in 4-6 weeks (depending on how large I want the canopy)

Well I wouldn't consider 4 1/2 got tall and 3 foot wide small. I'm just saying I could see veging fewer plants for a longer time matching or passing yields of veging more plants less time

And I use around 600 actual wats of cfl to veg

I live in the uk so I alway try and keep my plant count low, but if you can flower 9 plants under a 600w hps you should alway pull a higher yeild than a couple of plants
its hard to support the canopy and fill the room

Threw my grow so far I have found that false I got the same if not more from 2 4mnth plants as 4 2mnths plants

Humidity I had a big problem with for a while, it was almost 90 percent most of the time
I know it is an old one but for a reason not making similar threads I am going to use this one.
I have almost the same size plants but they are about 2 months old. However they are still no taller than 6-8" and very bushy. Some of them has stem about 1/2" wide. I topped them many times so each has from 8 to 16 top buds and they are almost leveled at the top
Considering their age I would send them into flowering about 2 weeks ago but 6-8" seems quite small. I believe that raising lights or dimming them(if yours are dimmable) will help a lot with vertical growth.
I had one plant out of these seven that I could not fit into my tent so I moved it outside. Unfortunately I do not have too much spots outside with a lot of time for the plant to be exposed to sunlight as well as I have had to hide it from some visitors. When I put this plant outside it was like 2" tall but after about 5 days sitting in a shade most of the day it grew to 14".
That's why I believe that too much artificial light(and I have a lot totalling 2400W LED) or with lights placed too close may not let plants to grow vertically faster.
Just right now I dimmed my 1200W light to almost half of its power and I hope in 3-7 days I can get them to stretch to 12". Basically 1200W it is my main light. Other two(600W each) are for side lighting(they are hung with some angle to give a bit more light to side plants that are not sitting under the 1200W light.

They indeed were short(about 3-4") when I first started topping them but they were about 5-6 weeks old. it was just very bad start for them and they were very small(2" or less) for a long time(about 2-3 weeks) struggling in peat pellets.
I just did not think they would not grow to something close to 12" during the next 4 weeks.
It may be a combination of a bad start and my first attempt with growing in fabric pots.
Anyway I will see how they go with stretching receiving much less light now.

Lower your R:FR ratio and it will stretch more.

Raise the lights so the plant has to reach for it.
I have tried to get what you mean by reading this https://gpnmag.com/article/r-fr-ratio/ but it is all confusing. Can you collaborate more on this topic.
My all lights come with VEG and Bloom switches and the 1200W one also dimmable. Before I used to have both switches ON and 1200W one had been set to full power. When I posted here after reading this topic I decided to switch Bloom on all lights OFF and dimmed VEG on the1200W one to half of its power. Today is the third day they are sitting in my cabinet under this condition but I still cannot see any significant grow or stretching. According to the plant I measure it may be grew 1-2cm top over these three days.
I also moved stretched plant from outside to the same cabinet. It is receiving the least light among them all. I topped it before moving and I was not expecting to monitor its growth rate but I can see that the topped part is developing two new nodes is quite noticeable.
In regards to R:FR ratio, are you suggesting that I need to have both BLOOM and VEG switches ON or having only VEG switch ON and BLOOM OFF will help with stretching?
The lights I have is VIPARSPECTRA, two 600W ones are their V model and the 1200W is their PAR series. My first grow was with just three of their 600W V series but I started using them in the third week of their vegetation state. At the beginning I had really crappy chinese LED that claimed to be 1000W but in fact based by power consumption barely reached 300W.
So in the first grow seedling were stretching a lot for the light under these chinese LED. By the time I switched to VIPARSPECTRA seedlings were quite tall.
Do you mean topping? So when should I top them then? I topped them based on their age, not size. It seems logical to me to do it that way as there is no way one can predict how tall they would be within next two weeks after topping.
