Yeah quite possible but I'm sure the cold nights would aid the strains that already have purple characteristics.

home_grown there is plants out there like that not just "quite possible". This is better because if you induce the cold temps to a plant to make it turn purple you are actually stressing the plant, that is why most purple doesn't smoke as good as nice green strain.

lol, I am quite aware that certain strains have purple characteristics. But what fdd was stating was that it is in the genetics and probably further more enhanced by the cold nights!

So what happens if I use green food coloring? You think it'll make them green as fuck or what because the bud from the plant I got the seeds from was dark and swampy and I would like to improve on the quality. I have been babying these ones whereas last year I just let em do their own thing (which is why they had seeds) so I think te bud'll be better but not tip top and a little color would do em good. Whattaya think?

Trigger- Most of the growers I know use Krylon Spray paint): Not much for taste, but it sure is purdy): Seriously, why would you want to color you smoke? Just start out with a Purple Strain & you wont have to fool yourself or anyone else.

i still dont fully understand what you guys are talking about lol. Do you actually add the food coloring to the water and poor the water in the pots so the water goes to the roots? That sounds retarded lol, like how in the hell can that work? At first i thought u guys were talking about foliage feeding with food coloring. now i can see that working, but watering a plant by the roots with food coloring just sounds like it would never work. Its like, why not add some flavor to it too, throw some coffe beans in there and have some java bud

if you drop the temp to below 50 the last 3 days of harvest the buds wil turn purple too happened to me with my outdoor grow but i also had 2 frosts so idk maybe put your plant outside during a frost

This is something we did in elementary school science class to show how the vascular system of a plant works. We used white carnations in water laced with food coloring. They use the water and the flower petals change to the color of the water. Not too hard of a concept to grasp, but I don't really see the need to color marijuana this way. Want purple weed? : grow purple weed.

We are smoking our plants and me like most smokers like good tasting cannabis....food coloring will make your bud taste like ass.......get you a purple strain that turns purple no matter what conditions it is in.....dropping your temps will make your plant turn purple sometimes but mostly the leafs and the stem not the calyxes which is the part we actually smoke.....

Im gonna give you the mine and FDD version of how to make your weed grow purple. Ok its very hard and expensive so listen up.

Your going to go to a drug store (not 5th street in Manhatten ) buying SOMETHING and go home.

When your home add the Purple food coloring you bought to the water your watering with and water it like normal u can start at any time, from now till harvest or just near harvest, youll get nice purple buds. Frankly im more of a Cyan Blue color bud man myself but hey, we all got our preferences.

Thats how you make maryjane purple, or purple buds.
Turning your pot purple to enhance bag appeal is an easy task when you buy purple marijuana seeds.

There's less purple pot around. Compared to Kush or Skunk. Creating huge demand for it when a grower harvests purple marijuana seeds.

Some marijuana seeds (Purple Power, Blueberry, Grand Daddy Purple and Lavender) are genetically programmed to turn purple as they finish flowering. Growers enhance the purple effect by dropping their grow room temperature slightly to make buds go purple.

Do not add food coloring.
Other than green, purple is the most common color sought in marijuana seeds. Triggered by seasonal temperature changes (just as trees change color in the fall), the vibrant hues of the mature pot plant are also the result of genetics.

Indoors and outdoors, color can be influenced by deficiencies as well as by temperature. For purple color to develop upon maturation, marijuana seeds must have the genetic potential to produce anthocyanin pigments. However, the color might never be shown if environmental conditions don’t cause chlorophyll breakdown.

Colombian and Hindu Kush strains tend to develop purple coloration when subjected to low night temperatures during the end of their life cycles.

Purple Orangutan, originally from Afghanistan with heavy traits of the Hindu Kush, produces some of the darkest purple and blue tones found in any marijuana seeds.

Buy geniuene purple marijuana seeds from reputable retailers.

Understanding how to turn pot purple is a learned skill. It's possible not all your marijuana seeds will turn purple. Some marijuana seeds will turn more shades of purple than others. Growing purple marijuana seeds requires practice. However seasoned growers will be rewarded with excellent yields of beautiful looking buds. Commending top dollar.

Purple marijuana seeds are growing in popularity throughout the entire cannabis community. Purple strains are said to have a focal flavor of grape that is nearly universal for all strains.

just buy a purple strain ? theres loads out there , seems like the sensible option to me , even if adding food coulouring to your water works ,your not going to get that unique 'purple' flavouring , we all love,so seems pretty pointless to me .
