How to Prevent Buying Mites From Grow Store?

I was worried about geting spider mites from eggs left in or on soil products bought at the grow store.

Would it be effective to freeze the products for a few days? Would that kill the eggs?

There’s a recent thread on spider mites in this forum,(general mar. growing). They were discussing that very thing. Their answer was yes you can.

I believe mites can "overwinter" so I dont think freezing will do anything at all. If you are trying to avoid any sprays, chemicals etc. heat would likely be a better element for destroying mites/eggs if you have the means to do it.

Anything that comes from the grow shop gets an alcohol spray. I kept telly my friend to spay his CO2 tank every time he picked it up from the shop.
Now he does after a infestation.
If I go the grow store or even a fellow garden indoor or outdoor. I shower and change before I enter or play with my garden.
Cheers
